he's in one of my favorite FFs Generic Player Character from FFXI. Such a klutz.
Favorite protagonist? FF5's Bartz/Butz. A hobo surrounded by princesses, living the life. What a boss. Not at all. I suggest you watch the starting cutscenes and then watch how he approaches Jecht at the end. He handled his own mortality way better than any other FF character has. No he doesn't. His main character development was his hatred for his father. Towards the end he finally respects his father and shows he did love him. Deep story and good character.
