kusarigama is a poor weapon. If you can catch a baseball, you can block a kusarigama with a shield with ease.

Actually kittens will assume any other animals are cats if they are young enough so the kittens would be more likely to want to play.

You need to fight at distance as a ninja, cause even if you know martial arts a dude buffed and armoured is going to cut you into pieces. The sickle was never actually thrown in the first place, that's just a modern thing because it looks cool. Instead the weighted ball was thrown to entangle their opponent and trip them up, then pull them in close to kill the with the sickle.

My point was about the chain, not the sickle. The sickle will break on the shield if blocked. kusarigama is average of 8 feet in length and also requires 2 hands to use, if you make the chain any longer then that it is easy to intercept. That distance is coverable in a lunge. As soon as the ninja lets go of the chain, you lunge at him. If the chain hits you, it doesn't matter as you have already covered the distance to him and you're either hitting him with your shield or sword/pike.

Senbon have an incredibly short range unless they are anchored into an object which then becomes shield fodder, or you can counter by throwing the pike or dagger then close the distance with shield/sword

Right, I stated that earlier. In a close up open field Spartan wins 90% in a wooded area / city / ambush location where they are separated Ninja wins 90%. Giving them both 10% room for error.

Not necessarily. You can maintain distance in an open field. Ninja is supposed to be much faster and with lighter armour.
