Hey somebody explain to me in derp terms why we use salt on roads to melt snow but use salt In ice cream to make it freeze faster
There is usually also some other kind of chemical (magnesium comes to mind) in t he road salt used to treat the roads during icey conditions. And there are different versions/uses for them too. I know MDOT used the wrong one once and turned half our beltway into a slip n slide. NOT. COOL.
I've never made ice cream before but if I remember correctly the salt is not put directly into the ice cream is it? I would assume the way they are using it is putting the ice cream into a separate container surrounded by a solution of water/ice mixed with salt which would then act as a heat transfer. They will strive to reach equilibrium, meaning the same temperature, by means of a heat transfer which will thus "remove" heat from the mix solution and give it to the ice, making the mixture colder. The reason we have to add salt is to give the water a lower freezing point because the naturally occurring freezing point of water is higher than the freezing point of the ice cream mix.

*out of breath*

inb4 I'm completely wrong...

Edit: I would page... I'm gonna go sit in the corner.

A precise value for the rotation period of the interior remains elusive. While approaching Saturn in 2004, Cassini found that the radio rotation period of Saturn had increased appreciably, to approximately 10 h 45 m 45 s (± 36 s). In March 2007, it was found that the variation of radio emissions from the planet did not match Saturn's rotation rate. This variance may be caused by geyser activity on Saturn's moon Enceladus. The water vapor emitted into Saturn's orbit by this activity becomes charged and creates a drag upon Saturn's magnetic field, slowing its rotation slightly relative to the rotation of the planet. The latest estimate of Saturn's rotation based on a compilation of various measurements from the Cassini, Voyager and Pioneer probes was reported in September 2007 is 10 hours, 32 minutes, 35 seconds.

soooo cooooool :o

I did that is why I asked for clarification on what she was asking on revolving since she did not specify on around the sun. Might have meant rotate. I knew exact rates were not known but did not know that they had estimated it to about 10 hours. FFFFFFF thats fast.

I've always been more a fan of Venus, ever since the first textbook entry I read about went something along the line of, "If an astronaut set foot on Venus's surface, their blood would boil them alive in their suit."

Also, Jupiter is cool. I like Jupiter.

I like Jupiter and Neptune because they have super hurricanes.

Like bigger than our planet hurricanes.
