Honestly dunno, it's some issue on their end from what I am reading, I guess since the intro of the F2P option there has been in influx of new players (obviously) and it's causing issues.

Yeah, I just have to put their update server thing in my hosts file, minor annoyance, they give you like 5 things to do to 'fix' it.

If job changing isn't possible, I think crafting should be available to all in some form. Maybe only allow access to certain recipes unless you're the Crafter class, though. :x

Realistically speaking I'd say keep it the same... crafters wouldn't have the free time to go out adventuring and focusing on their combat skills assuming that goes on in the rp forum. Likewise adventurers wouldn't be able to dedicate enough time to the work bench to achieve a level of mastery.

If anything maybe grant other classes limited access, ie repairs but keep mid to higher end stuff limited to crafters.

idk, reminds me of merchant class from DQ.
is this class in high demand? profitable for those who play it?
would they be happy if they changed class?

maybe, if other classes could craft, they should be able to craft consumables or low tiered restricted items according to their own class and level, but if a Crafter would make these same items, they would be of same/better quality ?

Should stay the way it is. If people like the way of contributing to the rest of the group in this way, it is just another support job.
Crafting isn't practical accessible in most games anyway. Even in FFXI you have to choose between crafts and are locked out from the rest.

now that I remember, Merchans in DQ, would sometimes "trip", falling down...
And as they fell, the items and weapons carried by such character, would fall out of the bag, and hit the monster for a crit hit... fun lol
