They should've tied things up in 13 instead of making sequels, it's just annoying. Make a game that is good enough on its own.

It's always a bad move to make a game that bridges two others together for another console.

4 games for a single Final Fantasy universe is ridiculous in my opinion. Versus looks different, so I have no distaste for it yet and will keep an open mind for it, but I'm sick of lightning and her story. I was sick of it after the first one to be honest :\

What's not to understand? It's a bad idea to make "bridging" game (Chain of Memories) for a different console than the other two installments.

Versus isn't tied into lightning at all from what I understand. It's just what they wanted to call it for some odd reason since it was supposed to release at the same time.

I disagree. What they've done with XIII is horrible, but multiple games in the same setting can be done well; look at the Ivalice games. :x

I didn't say it was tied to her story, just in the same 'universe' or w/e you wanna call it.

From what I've seen though it looks awesome, but I just want it to come out already so we can get some more games being developed.

Isn't versus supposed to just take place in Tokyo? My understanding was it was an entirely different entity.

According to the developers, the locations in the game are based on real world locations. So far, the following replicas have been seen or confirmed by the developers: Saint Mark's Square and Basilica (from Venice, Italy), Manchester (England), a U.S. gas station and Shinjuku (an area of Tokyo, Japan).

I think recycling a world can be smart, but doing tie ins among multiple titles is iffy unless it all comes together in a concise manner. But yeah, Ivalice is awesome and is host to games even outside Final Fantasy. Vagrant Story anyone?

I played Vagrant story for like... 30m and just stopped. Really disliked it :(

Maybe, I don't know much about it.

The world of Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be based on the real world and be most realistic of any game in the Final Fantasy series. The world will also be highly interactive and players can expect to be able to touch and examine almost every detail of the world.

There will be cities in the game and they will each be modelled in realistic scale to the characters. The city state home of Noctis is based on Shibuya in Tokyo. The city will be an accurate representation of it in both scale and detail. Creation of this city was done by studying maps of Shibuya and also visiting the area to capture photos and videos of the buildings and roads. Nomura has said the city state home of Noctis is the largest explorable city to ever appear in a Final Fantasy game. While this city state was still being developed for the game, the various source material that was acquired was also used for another game which Nomura decided to set in Shibuya, The World Ends With You.

The game will also have a traversable 3D world map similar to that seen in Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX. However, as with the world of Final Fantasy XII, the world map will be modeled in accurate scale to the characters. As a result of this, the world map is truly vast and it would take a long time to traverse from one end to the other by foot. Therefore, to facilitate easy navigation for the player, the game will feature various forms of transportation such as cars, chocobos and airships.

The player also has the ability to take photos whenever they want with Noctis' cell phone as part of a photography mini-game.

I guess I shouldnt be surprised that this is what represents America to the rest of the world.
