Fffffffff...

Finally get a little free time and decided to do some chores while I was out and about. Was gonna go get my fingerprinting done for my EMT renewal. Found the place that does it and everything near by -.-; apparently like any place that does this is closed on Wednesdays for no real reason other then it is Wednesday.

So get to do it late next week because they are closed on Friday through next Tuesday because of Christmas D:

I don't understand my college :| gf is rich (well ok not 'rich' but she has no issues with money in her family... at all) she gets 2500 from financial aid ...


my family (or well me) has barely enough to do much at all (this disney thing is somewhat of a treat I guess?) and I have to rely on financial aid... I get like ... 300 bucks...


How the *** does that make any sense at all?

You're a middle class white male. Though you are in a wheel chair, so I dunno.

But yeah... I have had the same issue all throughout my college life. I have never qualified for FAFSA (even when I was living without aide from parents making less then $25k a year) and never gotten financial aid from a school.

Wherever she's getting that aid from it can't be through FAFSA... If her family has no issues with money then she shouldn't even qualify... $2,500 and $300 seem like wierd numbers too... especially the $300... is this some kind of specially financed aid through the University itself? If so... seems more like a grants or scholarship than anything...

Like as in a fund that her parents set up? That was our only saving grace. Sorry I still get sour when I think about how *** the financial aid system is here.

My brother and I didn't receive any, and it put a lot of strain on my parents. I really shouldn't be bitching about it since I graduated in 2008. I just still get pissed when somebody rattles off an example like yours.

I'm getting some financial aid from the Pell Grant program to attend community college (though at this point, I'm honestly not sure how much, I haven't started yet). But I also have the GI Bill, so my college is gonna be free regardless. Hurray for one silver lining to being a disabled vet!

I thought the GI bill only offers a certain amount every semester... up to like 10k a year? I could be very wrong about that though... Pell grants are nice... I think they can go up to about $5,500... You're only elligible for those the first four years though I believe... for those that take a little longer to graduate...
