Apologies to those who where on that Last Match yesterday, something came up and I had to afk, didnt think it would take that long :| weird day today so far... my caps-lock key broke on my laptop... ugh... bloody hot, should have been a day off.... and my boss just asked me to google something up.... "does sex weakens the body? how much time before a match can a boxer have sex, and have enough time to recover from it?" /awkward

The weak in the knees/makes your legs weak etc. explanation is just a quick way to explain it to a fighter without going into all the details. Ideally you would abstain the entire training camp to make you a sex deprived crazed killing machine. You just have to keep telling yourself that all the starvation and heavy training and pain and deprivation is your opponents fault and the fight is where you get to make him pay. If you are planning on punching another man in the face for an hour you need a deep well of resentment to pull all that anger out of. There's no scientific evidence at all to support that theory. Sex temporarily lowers blood testosterone levels for approximately 3 hours afterwards, other than that nothing. Then again, abstaining does build frustration, I don't know if it's just a placebo effect based on the old wives tale that it somehow makes you stronger, but from my own athletic experiences I certainly felt more aggressive and motivated during times I wasn't having sex. In terms of actual measurable physical performances though, there was absolutely no difference at all.
