I can see it, Spath. They both have vocalists utilizing high pitched howls, and though C&C work with more modern effects and hooks etc, I'd imagine if Iron Maiden were a new band they might have a similar sound. I've never been a fan of C&C personally (that dude's voice always annoyed me), but I can definitely see the similarities.

I've always enjoyed C&C. ^.^; I like the way Claudio can manipulate his voice, and really enjoy the instrumentals. Granted while many of my friends seem to hate their newer stuff I enjoy it a bit more than the old. XP
I have to give them a lot of credit. Nowadays any band that sticks to traditional setups gets an ace in my book. I've always been a fan of those bare bones groups that knows about all these new tactics that are popular in music and basically choose not to implement them. There's no DJ, I don't hear any stupid autotuning and these dudes all have musical talent. So for that, I respect them.
