I was never a soloist. I always played RDM like a support character. In Dynamis or any other endgame run, I always made sure my party had refresh and haste accordingly. I'd toss out an enfeeble or two to keep the ball rolling, but my priorities were:
1. Heal
2. Buff
3. Enfeeble
4. If I have the MP maybe MAYBE a nuke.
I could never get the whole solo RDM thing down, though. I just didn't have the patience to keep running and toss out gravity with dots and nukes. It took forever, and 3/4ths of the time I wouldn't get what I wanted, anyway.
Mag, you've never really struck me as the RDM type. BLM maybe. And your name just screams, "Smite my enemies with Mjollnir!" But more in like a, "Mjollnir should have been given to a melee viking" sort of way. (Don't hurt me, Kalilla!)
And Spath, when Narshe mentioned you being killed earlier trying to unlock Ninja, he meant on his FFTactics playthrough.

Ooooh, totally forgot about him playing that. >.>; Thanks for telling me.
See, with swords I can definitely be down. I had a lot of fun soloing (or in many cases duoing) Prime Avatars and tanking RDM/NIN. ***was always fun... well, okay. After I was a noob and my friend Sherm and I got pwned by Titan. And of course at the time we were on Vent and my other friends could not stop laughing at us. >.>

Y'know, I usually go for the superpowered characters. I'm always the one to choose like the warrior class or the barbarian or whatever. The bigger the weapon, the better. But when I was first introduced to XI, I was talking to a guy I hadn't met before (who would turn out to be one of my best friends) and he told me that my other friend, Shermstixx (the one who knew this guy originally and was convincing me to play) already was playing a Samurai, and he wanted the two of us to level together (again, before Abyssea), so he thought the best DD in the game at the time and the best healer/buffer at the time as a package deal would get us lots of invites. And usually it was me who got the invite and then I always had to do the, "Hey do you have room for a DD in the party?" tell after the invite.
Long story short though, badass DD was taken already, so I tried something new. Turns out I loved it, so it works out. Later on I got a SAM and had fun with it for a while, but RDM was my first and my wheelhouse. It's hard to leave that which you know.
Also, I got a THF, and that I ended up loving, too. But... yeah. That turned out to be a bit long, didn't it?
It was mostly for shits and giggles. If you notice, Pimpjuice is dressed the exact same because shortly after I took that pic, he joined us. It would've been hilarious if we could've gotten a RDM line going. lol
All I'm waiting on now is the dinero. As soon as I get it, I'm coming back. And I could easily AFK in Jeuno while I'm doing homework.
Edit:
I saw Eburo standing in this gear, so I had to change into mine for a photo op.
I see 4 RDM`s in that pic, possibly 5, not sure if Rupii is RDM or carrot top. For a dead job, it seems to be quite popular, at least for a photo op.
Well, this was taken a couple years ago. I can't say for sure as to whether or not RDM is still popular, but from what I've read on here, it's not as popular as it used to be (again, before Abyssea).
Actually, I'm guilty. When I first leveled, I couldn't wait to get rid of my Magna gear. Plus I thought I looked swank wearing all my red and black gear.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
