True potato story: When I was a wee little squirt, my parents tried to feed me Au Gratin potatoes. What I heard when they told me what it was was rotten potatoes, though. So they made me sit there til I finished, and I was sitting there crying, and finally my stepmother was like "What the devil is wrong with you?!" and I said "But they are rotten!" Took them like 20 minutes to figure out why I wouldn't eat them, then they laughed at me for ages and wouldn't let me live it down. /blush.

I love Au Gratin potatoes now. Delicious!

That's like the one version of potatoes my wife doesn't really like. She loves potatoes, can live days on nothing but them straight, but you make Au Gratin and she won't hardly ever touch them.
