I actually kinda hope it's the end.. I mean the world is already going to complete ***.. I hate to imagine this place in 20 years..
However there was line of thinking on the Mayans that I read and watched quite a few times, and it's not that they were saying the world would end, only that the end of the cycle meant a great change was coming.. Which can be negative or positive.. But it was years ago and I can't find it anymore, but I saw it from more than one source..
The idea isn't really that far fetched, I mean look around, the world is going to ***, it can't sustain itself like this indefinitely.. At some point there is going to be a major change (although who knows if that's good or bad) either we make a serious attempt at fixing everything or everything collapses.
Then again, when the whole 2012 thing started becoming popular, I started reading into it heavily and watching documentaries from all scopes (those seeking to disprove it, those looking to support and those who are just acting as intermediate parties and giving the facts) and I don't really believe in it anymore.
Also, interesting fact.. On Y2K me and a friend got really stoned, just the two of us, too young to really go to parties, too old to just just play video games.. We waited til midnight and nothing happened, still had lights and all that, the world didn't explode, we went to sleep soon after.. Woke up the next day and there was no power, at all..
Apparently my neighborhood had a very well (or bad) timed power outage.. Transformer blew or something.. I woke up groggy as hell and still kinda dazed and noticed there were no lights, I said "it actually happened" like 2-3 times to myself before shaking my friend out of his sleep and pointing out that it actually happened.
