I'm somewhat happy he had little to do with with the overall story, to me he sucked as a character in general. Though I can understand how annoying that is.
As for the rest I also totally agree.
Sadly I've gotten to the point where I just don't get hopeful for many games in general now a days. Most are filled with bugs or progress horrible, or even more common are beaten in a matter of hours. It just doesn't feel like ***is worth my time anymore. :/
Random *** thought that popped into my head: I never thought I would want a stuffed animal again, but damn do I feel like I could use one right now. XP

I think part of the problem is developers and publisher pressure to pump out games on such a regular basis is affecting the overall level of devotion and development to titles and franchises.
They sell so damn well initially, that they get coddled up in the safety blanket and rehash and repeat the same things but add a new coat of paint and over a long enough timeline, miss out on creativity, innovation, and ultimately substance that made the games great to begin with.
I remember when FF games were a real big deal, because they took forever to put together, and came out once year or longer.
Heck, almost all AA games back during the PSX and N64 days were a big deal because they successfully kept the limelight and anticipation in the creation of their new title, but somehow justified the wait with the quality of the title. But now it just seems like we're always getting Call of Battlefield 3 Space shooter person with spiky hair RPG every month or so now. It's difficult to keep caught up, to even determine if they're any good to begin with. It's only a matter of time before you just know the next one is gonna be no better or different.
