If you took it beyond it's purpose, then you were bound to be disappointed. Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino intentionally reintroduced the genre to modern film to show exactly how exaggerated and ridiculous, yet entertaining they were from several decades ago.

idk maybe i did miss the "point". point is, i found literally nothing entertaining about that film, except for maybe the lap dance scene...but that had nothing to do with the movie really lol
