I just had a nightmare in terms of those supposed "digital protection".

I ordered an item from the south american "Amazon" (Mercado Livre).

It was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but its already night here and nothing.

So, I went to the site to check wtf was happening.

The site simply said: "We dont recognize your device. Do this 2 factor authentication".

Ok.

"Now, use your QR Code and insert this PIN".

QR Code generally are terribly implemented in most things. This was no exception. It simply said that it was expired as soon as the page opened, so I had to wait one minute for a refresh.

Inserted the PIN, and it was bugged. The page got stucked.

Refreshing forced me to reenter the 2 factor.

Then the QR Code + PIN.

1 minute wait because the system is faulty by design. It already open with PIN expired.

Then it worked the second time.

Next, obviously they asked my photo. Because why not. They got my face.

Twice.

Then they asked me to get back to the computer.

Then they asked my ID.

They got it.

Then they asked me to wait 24h till they complete the verification process. And NO login.

Just wait. You cant use you account you have been using for the last 2 decades.

Jesus, this is pure madness.

Either indecency or simply gross stuff.

This morning I turned on my desktop to update my version of Palworld, just to reduce waiting time tomorrow.

Im pretty excited for the marathon post-release I will promote this weekend.

Given my current schedule, I wont have time to keep playing, so it will be online this weekend, lets see how far I can go.

When I was studying at college I used to live in a pension.

But the owner was sketchy. He tossed me in one of the poorest room in the place.

The pension itself was almost a slum, and my room was built by the owner itself, around a pipe that connected the WC from upper floor to the sewers.

So, it was a filthy place by definition.

But obviously the thing was poorly constructed. He just assembled planks around the pipe with poor sealing.

So yeah. I used to wake at night by the sound of the cockroaches steps around my room. Normally 3 or 4 by the night.

It was a rough time. Took me a few days to give up on complaining to the owner about the situation, so I ended up buying epoxy and sealing it myself.

It did fixed the issue, the cockroach stopped to invade my room.

And the owner criticizing my repair: "oh, this is not good. We gonna need to remove it some day"

Yeah right. Luckly for me, some time later a friend invited me to live with him, and I had my last months of college living with good people, and not with roaxhes
