One of the reasons I never got into any of the major social media was because I don't want to hear that negativity day in and day out.
It depends on what social media that you read I think. On major social media I only read mangaka updates, pet posts, plushie collection and business marketing blogs. So algorithms only feed me this kind of posts. Which often has less negativity in general.
I generally skip and avoid anything too political on social media, so algorithm doesn't give me more politics. political posts tend to have far more negativity than other type of posts.
Honestly most of the political ***post that I see these days came from FFXIAH.com or game forums/steam review sections lol. It's kinda lame that trying to get info about games comes with the price of having to read political shitposts these days. Other kind of non-gaming, non-politic posts are still safe from what I've seen.
I haven't tried bumba since xmas break - everyone's times are wonky and everyone is getting over being sick - We are helpfully starting again next wed.
honestly I am more worried about burning my house down I mean getting a 5090 for Msrp.
Maybe then everyone won’t be miserable or a piece of ***and we can stop fighting each other when we should be banding together, breaking bread, and fighting the economic machine that oppresses us all.
Competition, often resulting in discord, is in our nature. It's easily fueled by greed, envy, & pride.. also part of our nature. Some humans will always strive to achieve higher "status" than others = hierarchy is inescapable. It's just the way things are.
I don't think there's a way to eliminate conflict (doesn't have to be full-blown and we can always deal with it in better ways) without tight mass control. I can only imagine a society without conflict that's utopian at first glance but dystopian on closer inspection. And that's only on the intra-societal level. On the inter-societal level, deterrance and/or mutual benefit are necessary to sideline conflict and create an ephemeral peace, or, rather, and illusion of peace.

I make it a point to try and curate what I see or follow on socials as much as possible. I unfollow/hide/mute things that I don't care to see. Like/save/commment on things I like. Certain platforms are better for some things than others so I'm conscious of what I'm opening and when. My thought is if seeing a bunch of negative bs can make me feel some type of way, then it could also have the opposite effect if I'm seeing things that are a benefit rather than a downer.
disclaimer: I'd love to not look at any of this stuff at all, but I do social media for work and it's so embedded in our lives that the best I can do is be as intentional as I can to mitigate the doodoo I'm inevitably going to have to deal with.
I dont know what kind of person you think I am, but I'm not going to post methods of how to off yourself on ffxiah dot com that dont involve jumping in front of a high speed moving object. I'm an ***, not a psychopath.
There are plenty of other ways to accomplish that without making it a spectacle.
Still waiting for "Nynja's guide on how to undo yourself".
He will tell dad jokes, forcing you to laugh so much that the lactic acid building up in your abdominal will accumulate and explode, splashing all your internal organs around.
And in the end, you enter rigor mortis with a maniacal smile in your face.
Well, psychology studies reveal that it starts with not seeing something wrong as wrong, then the person dnot see a crime as a crime, follwed up by not seeing a person as a human and in the last stage, when there is no turning back, dont see the chihuahua as a dog.
Genetics and because "bad" people had an evolutionary advantage over "good" people for most of human history. Everything we are is because of our ancestors and what was a positive to survival and not.
If it wasn't for long running police and the legal systems almost everyone would be "bad", cause it's a massive advantage and "good" people would get filtered out of the gene pool real quick.
Actually no, because the humans just managed to survive because they have social skills that allow them to establish a civilization and subjulgate the other species.
And to build a civilization, its necessary to establish rules and that at least most people abide to them.
While there were always criminals in society, in every age, saying they had a "evolutionary advantage" doesnt explain the human history: if "being bad" was an advantage, through Darwin, in the end only the bandits would have offsprings, then they would follow their parents behaviour, and in such chaotic society where everyone is "bad", the society would quickly become a wild west, making the human weak to any other predator, thus leading to its extinction.
So, its exactly the opposite. It was the human virtues that made us reach our current evolutionary stage. And its exactly the lost of virtue thats bringing the dark times we are seeing currently.
No one said they have an evolutionary advantage though.
Using current day situation: bad people generally carry guns, good people dont. It seems like almost every day up here there is a new report of someone committing indictable crimes (rough equivalent to felonies) who was out on bail.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
