Anyone into film making and stuff? Wondering what the hell a .mkv file was >.> please dumb it down for me if you know xD
It's a high quality video file, higher quality than .avi and .mpeg I think. You need VLC player if you want to run it on your pc. Reason most players have trouble is because they don't have the codecs required to process the multiple file formats contained in the .mkv (video, audio, subtitle data).
I was gonna burn it to disk, I use dvdflick which I believe turns it into a dvd type when its done converting.. idk though lol too technical for me :(
I'm not sure I've never burned a .mkv before but I suspect it will have to be converted to .avi file format before burning. To do that you will need to enlist the help of google :/
According to Google, DVDflick recognizes .mkv files.
*downloads it*
Finally time to burn Cowboy Bebop remastered to DVD. @_@
I love it! Its kinda slow on the burning part but you get so many options to play around with that its worth it. I burned all my Nana episodes using it.

Those born on *** not only have a feeling for the big line but also the details. Painstaking in their work, they craft what they have slowly, carefully, precisely--without losing sight of their long-range goals. Thus they are able to combine the qualities of expansion and limitation in their personalities, enhancing greatly their changes of success. However, they do run the danger of getting stuck in an overly minute examination of the matter at hand, becoming overcautious or fearful, perhaps getting bogged down or even getting up altogether due to discouragement. Thus their expansive ambitions can be a kind of burden if it appears hopeless that they will reach distant and lofty goals in a reasonable amount of time.
Fortunately, *** people are usually in it for the long haul. Though they may experience discouragement, even depression for relatively short periods, they recognize that nothing which is really of value can be accomplished overnight. In fact they are usually highly suspicious of supposed shortcuts, acceleration plans, get-rich quick schemes and the like. Yet although despising superficiality, they can have trouble breaking through to the to the more profound in themselves. At times caught in a web of personal professionals entanglements, they may lack the breathing space needed to dig deeper and find meaning in their lives.
*** people are psychologists of a kind, fascinated by the underlying motivations of their family members, friends and colleagues. They often display a fine sense of irony regarding the human condition (their own faults and foibles included) and can see through personality facades and defense mechanisms of all kinds. They may see themselves as detectives in the great mystery story of life itself. Others may not always appreciate their perceptiveness, and indeed *** people must learn to be respectful of privacy by at times drawing in their antennae.
For those born on this day, talents of craft are less often expressed in the actual making of physical objects, bur rather in the conception, planning and graceful execution of projects. *** people can be very successful as long as they do not treat means to ends and ends in themselves, polishing the knob of a door so long they forget to open it!
Those born on *** can unfortunately display erratic tendencies and personal peculiarities which not only get in the way of their work but also create difficulties in their interpersonal and family relationships. They are better off when they allow themselves to compromise occasionally for the sake of harmony and thus make things easier for those whom they are working or living. Above all, they have to avoid getting on people's nerves through being too fussy or demanding.
This is spooky, Art! LOL! Since no one is dissecting I guess I'll start.
A good portion of this accurately describes my education and career...

The entire third paragraph is dead on!
This is also a flaw I can find within myself...

:D It's pretty interesting, huh? I always like these readings, even from different books/perspectives. The basic idea with mine is usually balance. Which is so true about me. Nerd quote: "Balance in all things!" /nod

Well, you are represented by the scales! LOL!
I always thought this song was a good description for my negative characteristics. I thought I'd share since we're getting introspective today.
One of the most prominent themes in the lives of January 27 people is that of early development, as those born on this day often manifest their talents at an early age. Not infrequently their professions are related to the same theme, and may deal directly or indirectly with young people. January 27 people are usually highly concerned with what is new and keeping young themselves.
One associated problem often encountered by January 27 people is that of premature development--obviously the greatest danger in childhood is that they be exploited or pushed too fast. Not infrequently their projects develop too quickly, their ideas manifest too suddenly, their financial affairs expand too precipitously. Because those born on this day psychologically predisposed to speedy decisions, it may be very difficult for them to maintain control over their affairs. In their interpersonal relationships, as well, they may push both friendships and romantic attachments too quickly, thus creating an uncomfortable albeit exciting situation for the other person involved. Sweeping others off their feet with a kind of tumultuous energy is typical of January 27 people.
Above all, those born on this day must learn patience and discrimination. Not all of their work is of the highest calibre, though they may expect it to be and can firmly believe it is. Unless January 27 people pay careful attention to the opinions and reactions of others they may suffer disappointment and rejection. In addition they must learn not only what they can do, but also who they are. Cultivating a realistic outlook toward life is essential for them if they wish to be successful in the world.
For January 27 people, keeping their childlike nature satisfied can be a full time job in itself. They mat be accused more than once in their lives of being overenthusiastic, juvenile, childish or even infantile in their emotional attitudes. All maturing experiences--having children themselves, conjugal sex, sharing household duties and responsibilities, holding a job, are both a challenge and opportunity for growth. If those born on this day get stuck in any of the developmental stages of childhood, they run the risk of being an eternal Peter Pan, ie., never growing up. As charming a role as this may seem, it can wear thin when they find themselves in middle age.
It is not uncommon that January 27 people undergo maturity crises at the ages of twenty-eight, thirty-six, or forty-two, when they are faced with stark choices as to whether they wish to fully accept adult responsibilities or not. Such decisions can only be made by the January 27 person him/herself and cannot be forced. Those born on this day must come to realize that retaining youth need not conflict with a maturing and strengthening of character. Working with children and young people, starting new projects and studying the process of learning and creativity can all help sustain their youthful needs in a healthy fashion.
March 30 people are extremely forward, rarely mitigating the effect they have on others. For this reason they can arouse antagonisms and obstacles which stand in the way of their tremendous drive to succeed. They may fail time and again in their endeavors to reach personal or social goals, but remain undaunted. Eventually, this determination makes for success, though recognition may come late in life or even posthumously. Those born on this day are concerned with their image, for they take quite seriously what others think of them. This is particularly evident when denied appreciation, for they openly show their bewilderment and pain. Such setbacks, however, only build greater resolve.
Because March 30 people are only capable of doing things their own way, they do best as self-employed freelancers, for as employees they are likely to clash with bosses or co-workers. If they are free to pursue their own personal vision, these conflicts can be avoided. Someone else's dream they find difficult to share, as their mind is one-track and their energy usually directed in one line of endeavor only.
March 30 people are very intense. Because relaxation does not come easily to those so driven, they can wear others out with their unflagging energy. Those born on this day can also create emotional difficulties through their childlike and often naive view of things. They are almost always self-taught types; formal education rarely manages to impact much to them. Fortunately since they carry such a clear vision of what they wish to do in their heads, they have the inspiration necessary to master whatever technical skills are required to do the job.
Having lots of friends is not important to March 30 people. When they do become successful, the accompanying social contact is difficult for them to handle. They may find themselves longing for the privacy they had before recognition, and even regret their achievements. Ultimately, however, they have no choice but to follow their inner drives. Sometimes, in extreme cases, the personality of these driven people becomes so deeply submerged in the flood of their activity, that it almost seems that they have become forces personified rather than flesh and blood human beings; their true existence lies in their work.
In relationships, those born on this day can be extremely demanding. Those attracted or already involved with a March 30 person had better be prepared for almost anything. Matching the energetic output of March 30 people is indeed difficult; perhaps the best mate for them is an empowered but undemanding person, one who can appeal to their imagination. But such a mate is also quite unusual, even unique, to maintain their interest over time. Furthermore, those born on this day may not always be the best at dealing with the success enjoyed by a mate and can be prone to projecting their own desires on their partner.
Though March 30 people are very complex emotionally, they are loyal in their own way and usually do their best to hang in there for their families and friends, at least as much as their driven personalities allow.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
