I need a reward from a particular quest. Then, i discover that i need to complete another mission in the first zone of Gran Pulse. When i will grab that mission, i discover i need to complete like another 6 missions.

So far, huge work but not that much problem. But…. There isnt a checklist for completed quest. You need to be in loco to accept the mission. The quests spawn in the middle of very huge maps filled with monsters. Inv/sneak are extremelly horrible to farm. Fights last from 1 to 3 minutes. Teleports are very stinky.

And now the worst part.

The minimap/map…. Rotate with the player!

Idk who is the brilliant mind who allow map to rotate, but im sure the same person who allow that is also kicking dogs, leaving unflushed feces at work, etc.

Only Hittlercat to have such an evil idea.

Its so bothersome dealing with this map

The non fixed map wasnt that bad for the entire game before ch11 because being so linear, it wasnt a big deal that.

But when the world opens…

Emotional cheating is still a thing. Not to say this is the same scenario as Vyre, but a friend of mine had his wife of 18 years decide she was gay and leave him for a female coworker(after working in a very gay-centric workplace and taking a trip to san francisco with a few of them). I have been trying to access something for my job for about 2 weeks. The portal I was attempting to log in to needs full rights to the backend so I can review residues. The goal is to close some accounts and readjust pricing on some accounts. Was getting nowhere and only hearing "You aren't the accounts rep, I cannot help you."

So I said *** it - I called the retired account rep and he was like "I sent an email and they confirmed they updated you as the lead. I did it for all portals. I'll forward it." sure enough I got the email and it's the *** same *** who's *** blocking me.

I sent the email. He responded that my account had been updated with the access on the backend. Also, the accounts you wanted closed are completed.

Always nice to have to call retired people to help, I have been doing that a fair bit lately.

But in my case at least it is the retired guys fault that he is getting calls/emails for writing code that has bugs that could be features and things that look like features that are actually bugs :/ 42 years is a long time to have no one checking your work.

Thats questionable because in (shallow) theory, brothers and sisters should have more genetic similarities than between children and parents, also they should be more susceptible to blood related relationships, and your theory does nothing for them.

Maybe the most “biological” feature to prevent incest is that humans lose love interest in a partner quickly, maybe one or two years since they met, enough time for them to have one child, then break up to search for new partners.

Society created the concept of family, making the relationship outlast the lose of biological love interest and increasing the chance for blood related relationship, but the same society created the concept of religion to create a barrier for that.

With the weakening of religion in our modern society, i believe whats in place is the constant burden of work that is placed on parents shoulders, increasing the age where couple have their first child, plus also weakening the quality time parents have with their children due to stress, overwork etc.

Also, the increase of divorcees can also be considered an indirect way to prevent blood related relationships.

I personally think that genetically the humanity didnt evolve that much since they got out of caves, nor the ~4k years of documented human history is enough to notice any evolutionary change in the specie

The reason I think its why (some) children hate their parents is a very primitive instinct of needs for protection.

Every human search for protection, and will never feel happy if they are feeling insecure.

Our society have been reducing the care of parents for their children, due to money, time, affection, etc. Without proper care, the child wont feel secure at home, and obivously will try to find that security outside house.

And thats generally together with friends in their age.

Children of unhealthy families will quickly look for groups to take part. And when the interest of the group clashes with the interests of the family, thats when the hate starts.

The most likely cause why teenagers almost all universally are programmed to turn into fktards arround 13-14+, is because kids who stayed as being nice to their parents, were less likely to be booted out. Which tended to make them less likely to have kids and pass on the genes that made them that way.

Seems pretty simple to me.

For it to be an evolutionary advantage, you'd have to argue that enough products of incest were unsuccessful to create selective pressure against it.

The idea many people have that incest causes all sorts of deformities isn't really true. I'm not suggesting incest is a good thing, but it takes many generations of incest for there to be any meaningful negatives. Most of the time, it's the fault of a recessive gene that was already present in the (limited) population. You can go many generations of incest in families that don't carry any particularly bad recessive genes without seeing any consequences to the offspring.

Plain and simple, it doesn't make sense.

My mindblowing knowledge i gathered this week were two, when studying neural networks.

The teacher was modeling the neural network, that wasnt anything over many functions stacked in a pipeline.

The first mindblowing fact was when he said the function (called activation) can not be a linear equation. If you use linear equations stacked one to another, the net result is the same as not having a neural network, only a single equation.

The he said: use ReLU instead, thats not more than a linear equation that is null if the input is negative.

But this particular adaptation makes the neural network to learn.

Thats kinda philosofical. The learning only happens when you introduce non-linearity in a learning system.

Humans still have a very limited brain where most models it uses is based in liearities. because thats the best we can intuitively infer.

So, the next stage of evolution would when we can think non-linearly. Then we will more easily have intuition of the non learity of our reality

I hate the gaslighting the AI industry is doing so people invest in their tech, it's very impressive at mimicking how we talk but it's not what they are pretending it is. It's not conscious, it's not intelligent and it is coded to lie if it doesn't have data on something.

Not only is it not what they are pretending it is but it will never be anything more than a better mimic, cause they are not researching anything but making it better at fooling people.

The "AI is dangerous" arguments is very misleading and they are doing it on purpose, not only to get more money (cause that implies it's either proper AI or will be soon) but to shut down open source versions of the tech to become a monopoly.

Now about AI, the history of AI shows the "winters" it had so far. Twice, they were advertised as a breaking change before it fails to meet expectations and people lose interest on it.

But the main take on the AI winters is that the demand was never dropped. Humanity really wants to make machine as sentient as humans.

But the failures comes more because lack of technology or knowledge.

That garantees that, while a sentient machine dont appear, any new hardware development will constantly bring AI back to news.

About our current AI age, I think we are nearing a plateau. Big tech managed to massively increase the resources over the last iteration of GPT, but the results werent proportional to the investment. Meaning maybe the Big Tech can come up with a more accurate GPT but will hardly introduce a new breaking change over what we have already.

And, as you said, the best those models can do is infer the next word in a sentence in a way that can make a coherent answer for a question asked.

I believe soon the AI development will enter a standby phase, like a third AI winter, till people can bring the so called quantum processor.

The quantum processor would be a breaking change over the current processors used for Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and would allow data cientists to try new models and maybe bring the machine closer to sentience.

AI will never completely die. But its very likely it will reach a wall, because humanity is always retrying with any new changes in technology.

Though, there is no discussion this current "AI sprint" brought a whole lot of toolings that surely gonna be a breaking change to many tech fields from now on.
