my step-brother/step-sister would come over on christmas eve, and have a dinner. usually a honey baked ham, and then we'd watch them open presents which was really awkward when you're a kid. they were decently older than my brother and i, but still young enough that they didn't bring us presents. they'd leave and then we'd watch christmas movies or we'd play games or something.

when my parents were still doing the illusion of santa, they'd set presents out after we fell asleep on christmas eve. as we got older my brother was bad about trying to open presents early and tape them back up. after that point they would keep them locked up in their room. we'd be up before them and we'd have to bang on their door to get up and set the presents out.

*Edi* we'd get to open a present on xmas eve sometimes, but it was always a joke. socks, underwear, etc

i have a friend who always wants to give gifts, but doesn't have much money. they always do some sort of artsy thing for people. she always gets awkward and seems to feel guilty about not being able to reciprocate bought gifts. this year, she told me about a book she's gonna buy with the christmas money she gets from her parents. i decided to read it and record it to make like an audio book. does that seem like a weird idea or a good idea?

well that's the point isn't it =O? i don't do gifts with a lot of people. so, i gotta make it make it worthwhile. last year they drew a picture of of akali (the cat, not the ninja), and i got them a nintendo online sub. they wanted the sub, but they were kinda unenthused. i guess if you give someone a thing you worked on, and they hand you a gift card, it's kind of meh? so i'm adapting.

When anakin was done, there were two Jedi and two sith left
Perfect balance.

I think the world was completely dominated by Jedis by the time Anakin was introduced. And that kinda gives away about the prophecy being true, BUT that it didnt represent exactly what Qi Gon Jin expected.

Except for ya know, the (at least) 2 or 3 dozen (up to 100+) other jedi, lol but close enough

I think those hundreds scattered in the universe were the said "grey jedis".

That concept of grey jedi imo is the most interesting one as it replicates the actual reality. Jedis and Siths were just too extremist for each side. One side to completely refuse emotions and the other side fully embracing every type of emotions. In between, those people who wont lose to their emotions and becomes demon, neither are willing to give up their life for an extreme chaste life.

Also, the beauty of grey is how they are conviniently placed in the middle point so they can work as a balance. If the era is dominated by Sith, new greys will join the jedi flank and restore the equilibrium. And if there is too much "peace", the same greys will be corrupted and join the other cause.

The "prophecy" in fact isnt an actual prophecy. Its nothing more that a balancing system that rules the entire world. And that applies to everything in Star wars world or even in real world.

This is factually wrong.
Peace doesn't indicate balance. Although times were predominantly peaceful, the jedi brought order by machiavellian means. The jedi mind trick is overlooked for it's subtlty as it undermines individual agency. Mind control is much more sinister than wielding lightning. The jedi enforced order thereby denying people their freedom.

The only true balance is entropy. Where there is light there will always be dark. Order breeds chaos and vice versa.

Inferring things from clues in the media is called critical thinking. It doesn't mean they're factually wrong if you can support it with evidence.

Like the son and the daughter being direct references to the light and the dark. Tha layout of the arena they combat Anakin in looks like a yin-yang symbol. The dark bring his apprentice, the light brings his master.

Think of like: the dark seeks the freedom to express themselves while the light seek the discipline to control themselves.

There's no "inference" you are factually wrong according to the lore. Your "definition" of "balance" is wrong. The "dark side" itself is in inbalance, this is literal canon and has been known for years.

Also your understanding of the "Jedi mind trick" is severely flawed.

edit: tl;dr what you are claiming is not canon, and has never been canon. The "rule of 2" for the Sith was to prevent infighting between them and even technically abandoned by Sidious, sort-of. Ironically his ego and using fear for control yet again.

I think fundamentally you misunderstand that the conflict has always been one of the self and finding your own way. As far back as Luke's struggle in the original trilogy. Vader being his father reveals that darkness is within all of us. It's an acknowledgement that there is both light and dark within the self. Vader's storyline is that of a tragic hero, not solely an antagonist.

I think you're getting caught up on the view point presented to you as the correct or good view point (that the jedi or light side is in the right) so you can't consider more nuanced interpretations (that neither side is right when taken to an extreme). It shows when you discredit the severity of what the jedi mind trick is doing to the person being influenced and how in subverts their individual agency (or free will).

I'm not misunderstanding anything. Literally your original point is literally opposite of established canon. I'm not "caught up" in anything, it is the story, point blank. Your "interpretation" is fundamentally wrong. There you go running on an irrelevant tangent yet again. If you have a problem with canon then fine, but know you're wrong.

Oh come on. We are ALL nerds here.

Merry Xmas all you nerds.

Being a history nerd Xmas is just as correct as Christmas. Perhaps more so even.

Pretty sure stories can be interpreted in different ways, just like some people might think the song white christmas is racist when they pick up on some of the subtle undertones. Just like there's literary critiques so too can they be done for movies or television.

You just repeat over and over that my interpretation is wrong or not canon. Have you even watched the clone wars or rebels? Looks like your some jedi fanboy that can't comprehend that what is presented as the good guys is not always true. The light side ruling is not the force in balance. Use your head.

Here's some more canon to support my points, but you can just put your hands over your ears and say lalala as usual.

This is when Kanan meets the Bendu. Notice he describes Kanan as the great disturbance in the force, like a storm. The light side can be the disturbance in the force, just as the dark can be. The disturbance has more to do with the balance being put into contention. He even mentions that the intent to do good can lead one down the wrong path. This can be seen as reference to anakin becoming vader, but it can also be a reference to the jedi. They may intend to do good in the universe, but that doesn't mean they're always just. One man's justice might be another man's crime.

@2:07~ "Perhaps it is the will of the force that the jedi and all your kind perish"

The force had been out of balance because of the dominance of the light side. Although individuals may be force sensitive, that doesn't mean you force them down a specific path. That is what the jedi were doing. This was disruptive to the natural balance.

1. You're*

2. No, you're wrong. Canon doesn't support your delusions. The elimination of the Sith is balance, always has been. The dude who wrote it even said so. Keep reaching though, it's almost cute.
