I only watched one bout of North American-style Handegg this season, and it was the championship CFL match. My home province won! That makes two Grey Cups in a row!

Not that anyone cares, except maybe Josi. Go Blue Mages Bombers!!

I wouldn't even bother posting about it, but it was a really good game. Went home to watch it and my mom is a very passionate fan. It being such a close game (even going into overtime) tensions were high.

Oh well. Now that that's over...

Apparently only 9 countries in the world call Football "Soccer", so I figured it would eliminate the confusion on these international forums :P

I feel like no RPG gets ninja right as a job/class from the perspective of game feel fantasy. But I love it in FFXI because they did it wrong in the most creative way possible lol

Or, I dunno. Maybe the fantasy really is the whole throwing and spellcasting element. Just whenever I picture ninja, I have it in my head that it would play like Arkham Asylum: hiding in the rafters, isolating enemies, picking them off one at a time, maybe using (improvised) gadgets, etc.

The foods in that video you posted all look like they are real stuff.

Idk if anyone missed playing this game but it’s probably the greatest Ninja game I ever played. Looks amazing. Plays amazing too.

Idk why American Football has not caught fire outside of the USA and what we call Soccer is still the World Wide #1 sporting entertainment. Soccer ain’t even #2 nor #3 or #4 in the USA. Fairly certain it’s the NFL MLB NBA NHL above, w/e the abbreviation is for, Soccer here. Very odd tbh.

Sports are just plain old Better in the USA…..

The popularity of Football (Soccer) can be attributed to its simplicity. Anyone from anywhere can make a goalpost and ball out of almost literally anything. Kick the empty soda can between two other soda cans. It's something that can be done with a single person.

CFL/NFL requires at least 4 players to do even the most basic of maneuvers. The ball is pretty specific as well. Not to mention the holycrapton of rules involved. Unless you've got someone to teach you the rules, it's virtually impossible to get invested in it.

Gearing your kid up for ice hockey costs like $1000 just to start out. Just putting on the equipment takes like 20 minutes, and a lot of people just don't have the time or money for it. CFL/NFL isn't much better with the armor you've gotta wear. Not to mention the likelihood of injury.

Yet why are our Sports not making a Big Impact in other financially wealthy Nations……… Why is there no appeal whatsoever to American Sports

It still just boggles my mind cuz it doesn’t make sense to me. WE HAVE “Soccer” HERE in the USA. It’s just not that amazing compared to other Sports Entertainment.

It’s just weird seeing foreign Nations always raving about Soccer and always feeling like these ppl are simply deprived of the greatest entertainment on Earth.

i've always found football pretty boring tbh. so much time spent between plays. almost as bad as baseball. you wait 30sec to a min, start the play, two lines smash into each other, WHISTLE!!!!!, and then spend another 30sec to a minute setting everything back up. i guess if i played it organized like that as a kid i might enjoy it more, but i require more action if i'm gonna sit there watching.

All sport is pretty boring. They're all 60 minute contests that get drawn out double the length. Too many rules. Too many stoppages. I can't fathom enjoying that ***.

Like every 3 god damn seconds. Clock stopped again. The *** strategies rely on clock stopping and time wasting. That's ludicrous. That completely breaks the point of the contest by manipulating the time constraints.

Compared to Soccer where you can watch a Ball be kicked around for an Hour long and nobody Scores. There’s more downtime to Soccer passing a ball around while Refs throw flags & blow whistles all the same IMO at least.

Yet it’s not your personal perception I’m seeking to understand tbh. I am very familiar w/ Soccer aka Football.

It’s the total disconnect between the USA and the whole outside World via Sports that’s is bizarre. The USA vs the World when it comes to Sport Entertainment. It’s not like it’s the USA vs UK or JP. Everyone is a Soccer fanatic and nobody cares about American Sports at all whatsoever. Which to me is just odd.

Some bum stole my bestbuy order, I had a soundbar from Sonos. Incredible, I bet they will get away with it!

That's why out of all organized sports, I like watching hockey the most. You can go like 5-10 minutes at a time between commercial breaks. And during that time, it's pretty consistent action with consistent high points: hits, goals, near misses, fights, etc.

The only time Handegg is at all entertaining to watch is when there's a team to cheer for and something on the line. Of course, with the sheer ludicrous amount of money put into the NFL, it can be entertaining just imagining the money being tossed around. Like "The quarterback threw an interception, that'll cut his worth by $2M per game going forward!"

They don’t watch the NHL neither. Even in the EU areas famous for skiing and they still don’t care about our ( yeah, Canada is very much tied into all our Major Sports ) American sports. Why don’t they have their own Hockey Leagues…….

Love the NHL. Much better than Soccer but so is everything else.

Man hockey is one of the ones I hate the most. 2 line passes and icing. Both utterly *** HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. And I won't even get started on them literally carrying weapons and even touching another player is against the rules.

lol that's fair. Though icing is a rule so teams don't just rocket the puck across the ice all the time. If it didn't exist, most of hockey would be people chasing the puck from one end of the rink to the other forever.

Someone ought to start a Ballista or Brenner eSports league. I hate playing PvP, but I've always admired the games that exist in FFXI. It's a small, unfocused part of the game, yet I've always found it way more entertaining to both play and watch than the standard deathmatch in other MMOs.

I mean, yeah, of course they would. But that's what I said in the first post. It's all about running the clock out instead of being an actual contest of skill. That's the primary issue.

I mean if you ice the puck, there really isn't a penalty. Either make icing MATTER or stop enforcing it. They're half assing it.

There are penalties: the team that ices the puck isn't allowed to refresh their players, and the puck is dropped in their end. If you've been skating for 5 straight minutes and one of your guys ices the puck, you have to keep skating until you're in the position to line change.

What about Gymnastics. Is that strictly forbidden as well. XD
