Random Thought:
The penalties for someone driving uninsured only situationally make sense. I understand why they are there but they seem badly executed. What I mean is that in my experience I've really only seen two reasons for legal drivers to drive uninsured, one was back before it was mandatory and I was just a child and the other is because they can't afford it but they have to get to work, get the kids to school, etc.
The second one is what makes it weird. So, let me get this straight, someone gets pulled over for driving uninsured because, most likely, they can't afford it so someone decided it's a good idea to charge them a fine that they also can't afford? That's genius.
There are quite a few laws that do nothing but show that there's a huge disconnect between those who make the laws and those who are subject to them.
The entire police revenue system is to further disenfranchise people. It's a money making scheme, nothing more.
But seriously if you don't have insurance, don't drive.
