Oh, you're bringing emotion into this? What's more iconic than getting a pie in the face? Not to mention, when has cake ever made it to the Billboard top 100 list? Ever heard of a little ditty called "Cherry Pie"? The cake is a lie and so is your weak argument. Also, pizza is waaaaay more iconic than people getting married or some prepubescent kid spitting all over a cake with a picture of a cowboy on it. So there.

I feel like the deck is stacked when I'm arguing pastries with a baker. I can argue both sides of the fence tbh, but objectively speaking cake is overall superior to me. Even if I would rather it be pie just because people tend to be HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE about cake. It's in a similar boat as when people expect artists to do them high quality artwork for like 5 bucks, or are thrown by the fact that they expect payment at all.
"I don't get it, why can't you make my outrageous specialty cake that will take 8 hours of labor for 50 bucks? It's just cake."

I feel like Mag is just ignoring large portions of what is cake while embracing everything that is pie.
There are so many variations on cake that it may even outnumber the different variations of pie and it's rude to ignore them!
