The more you reforge Iron the stronger it gets. And yes, it is rather simple.
At least with a steel sword you need to stack the metal pieces and heat them up again and restart the whole forging process
With a bronze blade you can melt it down and recast it (which requires less heat)
Not sure what you mean by reforging iron to make it stronger, you need to add a certain amount of carbon (and then quenching and tempering) to make it hard and flexible instead of soft (or hard and brittle without tempering)
