Just because I say someone is cute, hot, sexy, whatever does not instantly mean I plan on doing something with them. I know that seems weird for the sexy bit but to me it is simply a descriptor, not a promise of anything.

We already call everything cute anyways, women or men, dogs, cats, any animal, even plants. It's the intention of those words, or the expectations you had towards saying them.
Saying a girl is cute should just be, you look cute! It's like picking a flower thinking it's cute, then the next day it's dried up and wilted, and you exclaim: "YOU LIED TO ME!!!".

It's hugely important! How would you feel if some one came up to you and said you were cute but looked like the opposite sex. Also don't answer that as I know most of you will roll with it.
