That's a very fascinating article. I had assumed the only reason the aviation industry had stagnated the last ~60 years was because everyone was waiting for a new invention to come around fuel wise; something more powerful and we had simple reached the limits of fossil fuel propulsion.
I like how the article goes through the achievements and issues in all fields of innovation, engineering and technology before it actually talk of his own stuff. Indeed fascinating.
