I keep thinking about how depressing the Trix Rabbit is. It is like an analogy for life.

All the rabbit wants is the one thing-- the cereal. He always comes so close to getting it only to have it ripped away, then told "It's not for you." To add insult to injury, he is then thrown a smelly bag of carrots, or all the things he hates more than anything else in the world-- yet are socially acceptable for him. He must then choke down the bland and disgusting carrots to sustain his own wretched existence while watching the rest of the world enjoy all of the things he can't ever have.

The carrots are like the hours spent working humiliating low wage jobs, watching the clock and being unable to leave in order to make a paycheck. The carrots are socially acceptable male behavior like drinking beers and watching football between shifts at said humiliating job.

The cereal represents feeling loved and/or wanted and intimate relationships-- things men are considered creepy or weird expressing desire for, or, you know, pigs. Things like computer games and anime are non-productive and can be seen as non-masculine and shameful.

"Don't kill yourself" they will tell you. "There are plenty of good things in life to counter the bad"... they're just not for you. By the way, here is your stinking *** bag of carrots.

At least Dark Souls is pretty fair, this is just badly made. All mobs 1 shot you except for the bat, in DS you can avoid everything (if you want) or soak damage with parries or armor

It's not nearly as difficult

I never knew they were cinematics for that game.

I remember someone just randomly giving me the NES version as a gift and taking forever to figure out how to play through. Just like every other game for NES and SNES back in the day.

I never did beat it, but got somewhat far in it.

Oh I see the NES was an 8bit adaptation. It makes sense why the NES version was so brutal now as it was trying to imitate the dying if you made the wrong decision thing from the arcade version.

It' still one of those games you remember as being ridiculously hard.

For some reason it reminds of this game. This game has more a lot more flexibility, but there's no energy bar. Just one hit and you're dead. I remember it taking about a year to figure out how to beat the whole thing.

I watched the Sega version of this after and the music is terrible, SNES version sounds a lot spookier
