If it's important that you know the real them, like you're more involved than just friends, don't give them 100% benefit of the doubt until you meet them in person. If they flat out refuse, there's something wrong.

So since im asking these questions. Would you rather the person just come out publicly or someone else say it? Actually excited for this. Johnny Depp is a good actor, but lately I haven't seen anything spectacular from him. This may be different!

If you are going to crush somebody completely where there may be physical backlash, it may be better to coax the truth slowly, pointing out consistencies of the person in question, make them trap themselves really. I felt so bad with my last discussion post not being over 250 words so this time i'm posting a discussion post for my class with a little over 1,000 words.
Do you think this adequately makes up for my prior shortcoming?

If it's not going to hurt other people, no point in outing them. Unless you're the type to have all your "dirty laundry" out for everyone to see, then by all means~ otherwise, just let them hang themselves if they want or are willing to.
