I'll admit I'm a bit sad. There is a lot that could've been done to extend FFXI's life for a few more years after Abyssea ans Seekers was one, but in my opinion it was horribly executed.
Here's hoping that FFXV will be good, and not like the last two console games...
The FXV demo was pretty good.
As long as you don't burn yourself out on FFXIV doing your grinds, it can be pretty good too.

The best and most worthy solution to this dreadful news that the final content release for FFXI being in November, is to sit down, shut up, and have a pudding cup.

I got the money on hand to buy it outright. Have to sell a lot of stuff though -.- And since it's in international waters, I can pretty much claim it as another country.
Probably will get invaded that way though.... Thought it said it was part of the Philippine Islands.
