I liked that more natural approach. He's able to utilize monster abilities due to the fact that he's lived in the wild most of his life and is able to successfully imitate their abilities.
But also Magitek armors, robots, and other automata!
Not really a cop out. It's an idea that's just been overused enough that it's not as surprising to me.
If you want my real opinion on it? Failed experiments or not, while in control of their souls the BLUs have massive power, on top of this because of the choices that have to be made in order to accept the curse of their existence they have a revered quality, the ability to make tough decisions for the "greater good," to understand the implications and still undergo the transformation is quite a sacrifice after all.
And, when you can salvage things from an experiment, you will. The immortals may not be perfect but they work well enough until they're overtaken. No reason not to make use of their skills.
I get it, but it seems an unwise decision in matters of security when your entire guard unit is one giant ticking time bomb.
As it turns out, even turning into a Soulflayer doesn't necessarily mean a BLU will lose their mind. You don't have to have done BLU to even observe this. In one of the higher ranked assault missions, Azure Ailments I think it was, you have to get status effects from monsters to help try and cure the Immortals' "Kraken Flu." The Immortal inside of the assault issuing you orders is a Soulflayer in a black robe.
Another instance of this is in mission 42 when the Immortal you are fighting turns into a Soulflayer, again with a Black Robe. She continues to be sentient, and impose her will to fight you for whatever the *** Grand Vizier's name was.
It's one of those grey area type things and existences. I mean, when you look at the Empire in general, they love that type of ***. Why else would they make Chimeras in the Hazhalm Testing Grounds, the Puks, the Lamia etc. The Empire is out for power at any cost, until Nashmeira II is set on the throne at the end of the TOAU storyline
Tired from school and work yesterday, migraine, got home to a dark room and a cool bed, purring cat next to me... Got to that cusp of sleep... *** phone rings.

I remember the spoiler. Don't remember the assault being as such though. Granted it's been awhile. Yep remember it better now that I look at the npc!
i hope if and when they add BLU in x|v they have a realy good story behind them, and not some hashed together story that seems like a ripoff of other games in the series

I would be interested in seeing how they would make it work given the skill/spell system.
Might come after they change the battle system somewhat. Pretty sure they wanted to change the class/job system as well as the battle system a bit, said so in one of the interviews. It's in some translated thing on BG if you wanna read, can find it if you dig through RT too (I posted the patch stuff they wanted to include)

On the subject of new and upcoming games... Lords of the Fallen seems like a spiffy Dark Souls knock off and I kinda wish Bloodborne wasn't PS4 onry.
And how is Destiny for all of those who got it? I kinda want to give it a whirl since it was pushed so hard, but I can't do first person without getting a massive headache. Don't want to either waste money on a game I wont play, or money on massive quantities of Dramamine.
1) Watch a video that is quiet.
2) Put on headphones.
3) Turn the volume pot on your amp up to hear said video
4) Return to music without remembering you turned the volume pot up.

Here is another. Mirror Knight in DS2 with headphones.
For those who don't know Mirror Knight in DS2 is a boss that uses lightning, complete with realistic sound, and summons other players to help him kill you. Cool right? One problem, sometimes the sound for the lightning bugs out and plays as if you have the games Sound Effects Volume on Max. BOOM!
First it was that purple haired cat lady, then kill la whatever nipple triangles, and now it's this dominatrix. It's hard to keep up with the anime fetishes around here.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
