I indoctrinated a friend of mine into Dark Souls merely by showing him the intro. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Will Harris I must know more! Are there anymore eternal dragons? What happened to the one that betrayed them? If the fire fades what will happen? Whats the dark sign?

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn A single Everlasting Dragon lived on in a hidden area(it is impossible to kill and ignores player attempts to kill it). The Dragons had descendants, Drakes, which live a long time but aren't immortal. Also tend towards animalistic behavior rather than sentient being behavior. Seathe the Scaleless lived on, and even now he studies to learn a way to gain everlasting dragon scales, for scales would bring him immortality.

Will Harris Coooooooooool! Is the gameplay fun?

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn Yes! It's the same style as Demon's Souls, but it's more refined. Think really brutal Zelda but with a lot of different weapons/armors/shields/magic to choose from with optional leveling up!

Will Harris Coool, is the story good, and if you had to put the game play into a genre what would it be. I'm seriously tempted to get this game just due to the intro.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn The story is insanely good, but you have to put in effort to find it. It's become a theme with the Souls series that you arrive after a catastrophic event or in a chaotic era, and you put together the pieces of the puzzles yourself. You can find a lot ...See More

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn All that said, if you don't have the patience to die a lot/read through items and stats/care for cryptic/vague NPCs and find yourself constantly pressed almost then you might want to reconsider.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn It was made in 2011, and it's on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. I think you can pick it up on Steam for like 10 bucks? Maybe? Also something that's kind of neat, sometimes you think an NPC is being vague, when in actuality they've told you all there is to know as far as a main objective goes. They themselves probably don't know the details!

Will Harris If its not too expensive I think I'll give it a try at somepoint, just sounds really cool. I like the concept.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn To me it's a perfect example of the developers using THE GAME to keep your interest, rather than focusing on music/graphics etc.(though it has pretty good graphics and music in the places where there is music. Oh, and, I recommend going through the gam...See More

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn Ideally you want to traverse the game in full human form, because it lets you find/see more things and meet more NPCs. Some NPCs can help you in boss fights, so it's well worth it.

Will Harris I'd play in offline mode anyway, I seldom play online in any game. I just prefer to play on my own or only if I know the person.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn And oh yeah, the tag line for the game is, "Prepare to Die!"

Will Harris That's pretty badass. I like that the idea that game is made the way it is and you have to adapt to it, not the other way around. Its hard and the story is hidden, deal with it. Makes it feel like a much more fleshed out world.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn It also tests your eye for detail and skills of anticipation. I'll give you a hint when you do get it, pay attention to the character classes. What do they all have?

Will Harris Gotcha, thats pretty cool that they force you to work harder instead of just getting better as a character.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn Yeah, but then it's also nice that you can strengthen yourself if you want to/feel like you need to. It is possible to beat the entire game with just your starting level, albeit insanely difficult, and you still have to upgrade or find better gear to use.

Will Harris Gotcha, well I'm definitely going to try it out when I've saved up and have the time.

Alexander Ian Mitchell Wynn If you like it, the sequel is due to come out soon too You can save up, play the first one, if you like it enough then by the time you've saved up again the price on the sequel will have gone down
