Got my quarterly evaluation today, high praise all around.
My chefs are aware of (and participate in) the dislike for the new chef, and could tell I was being frustrated as well. I informed them a lot of people were considering quitting. He looked rather concerned, as he should be. If the number of people I mentioned quit, the buffet would be forced to close down for however long it takes to restaff.
He basically asked me to hold out and wait for the new chef to adjust and realize he's pissing people off and hope things improve. He likes the work I've been doing and doesn't want to see me quit too.
Couldn't make a promise either way, my resentment at the company grows daily over the ***they pulled that caused my family to lose our house. Top it off with this ridiculous ***they've been doing with my schedule and this new asshat and I'm pretty sick of the place.
Due to someone quitting already, someone transferring and maybe someone definitely quitting, due to the new chef bitching her out to the point she started crying... I'm probably not going to be able to get any vacation time in soon at all. Or a second day off per week.
