I don't see why calling it toon is such a big deal. I think you just need to get over it :P

It is much easier to say a 1 syllable word (toon) than to say a 3 syllable one (character, avatar, dude on screen), not to mention much easier to type and spell. Perhaps thats why people do it?

If text is the primary means of communicating, people will infer someones level of maturity/intelligence/demeanor from it - right or wrong, for better or worse.

Some words are associated with other games people hate, or its considered lazy. In an age where everyone can easily type quickly and not look at a keyboard when doing so, is the 'the word is shorter' defense even a valid one?
I hate toon because it makes me think of retards in WoW that used to argue in barrens chat/etc.

I hate that people are becoming too lazy to communicate properly. It even bothers me with text messages. Use proper spelling and punctuation. It isn't hard. I do think less of people who use 'u2' and stuff like that.

I don't use the word, personally (thought I put that in my post), but I just don't see how its worth getting bent out of shape over lol. People will use whatever term they want, and the fact is.....we'll still know what their talking about.

Prolly but our server is quite FINE using toon as a word so....idc. But usually I refrain from using it here for YOU ALL in regards to FF related things. Now STO I don't care using different word since only 6-7 of us here play/played it.

It's easier to use proper spelling and punctuation with my phone since I don't use the keyboard layout lol. I have the same type as before with ABC DEF etc. Most people here use proper spelling and punctuation because it's just easier and doesn't look HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE

I never played WoW so I don't know but I imagine from the South Park episode of WoW most of are that way. /shrug. Only used it since our server many people refer to their Dudes on Screen, as a Toon. Don't blame me, blame awesome *** carbuncle server.

I'm having fun doing these Mega Man videos...I need to practice my speech so I can do decent commentary for when I start doing Zelda: Twilight Princess and other games.
