»also, graduate school is really expensive & being unemployed royally sucks.
I would have been able to start today had they not given my position away last week ; ;!
AFTER YOU MOVED DOWN THERE FOR THAT JOB?
Caps was unintentional but fitting.
I had three jobs lined up with different perks.
1. Job I interviewed for that would be full time, pay nicely and be applicable on my resume for long term employment goals.
2. Job II, was a Graduate Assistance position. It would have been 9 months helping prep stuff for students at the high school and given me in state tuition which works out to $100 discount, per class.
3. Job III would have been working as a personal assistant for a copper mine exec here, flying to his mines. It would have paid nicely and it wouldn't be doing anything more than keeping the coffee mug full and making sure the guy made his flights on time. Total posh position that wouldn't have gone on the resume or been good for the school schedule but hey, free travel ^.^
But here I am...no job.
Job 1, is not currently listed but they have my file/resume for 'when I am in the area'.
Job 2, given to a student in another graduate program. *shakesfist*
Job 3, guy is AWOL or died or something and my friend can't contact him to see if he still needs an assistant.
At this rate I could get a GA in another program to at least get me instate tuition. Sadly it has nothing to do with my program, career goals or experience.
I am calling back tomorrow to see if I can get connected with the Museum GA spot and if that isn't a possibility, I will go to the agency that I interviewed for.
