They're just different standards made/supported by different licensing groups.

If you wanna get technical,there are some slight differences in the way the discs themselves (and players that support them) read/decode the video/audio on them. But none of them offer superior video/audio performance iirc

Oh man! I'm still stalking down houses for sale, even though we are not yet on the market. And I found one with a hidden room! You know how in movies the evil millionaire always has a bookcase that swings in to reveal a secret room? This house has one! It's not a millionaire house by any means, and the hidden room is a bathroom. But still! Pretty darned cool!





I mean just the fact that it has a room full of shelves is pretty darned cool because if I buy a house that already has a library, I won't have to pay to put shelves in a room to make a library. But a library with a secret is just 82 million times cooler!
