Goodbye Pansura, Goodbye FFXI

Well, I said my goodbyes on the server, sent out a bunch of messages, but I figured I'd say it here too. I've quit FFXI. I've been playing WoW for the past few months, and while there were some more things I wanted to accomplish in FFXI, I figured I'd be best off just quitting here and now.

Thanks for the memories Pansura. RIP Sabishii 2004-2011.

Not to be a *** or anything, but in a couple months there will be a new thread "Coming back to FFXI" --I tried playing WoW but got tired of it. Is the game even worth it to come back to? What gear do I need/etcetc. However, good luck in life and take care if you do decide to quit for good.

Thanks for the well wishes. To answer crystalchan's questions: They made leveling at low levels easier (though not as easy as leveling post 75 in FFXI of course). I got from 85-90 in one night in FFXI, but it took me a week or so maybe to get from 80-85 in WoW. But they also made dungeons in catacylsm harder. You can't just AoE spam everything anymore, you need to use some strategy, crowd control stuff. But you'd want an average item level of about ilvl 346 to do cata raids (that is, higher rep gear and heroic gear).

But you need some better gear to get into heroics (go do regular dungeons until you can get rep gear, and other blues). It takes some time, but it's better than farming seals endlessly in FFXI, you get justice points you can spend on stuff instead of always depending on drops going your way. I like that I can accomplish stuff easier than in FFXI, you get money just for doing random dungeons. But a lot of people still suck and have crappy gear. Oh well. It'll get better.

I left things open in case I DO want to return to FFXI, but I'm hoping things in WoW continue to go well.

They will. Just don't let the idiots bother you. (Believe me, you think the ones on FFXI are bad? You ain't seen nothing yet. =P)
