 The Croissant But really, it just seems like a reinforcement of relations between the US and France more so than determining which one is our "best" friend. It's elementary to take comments like that to heart or personally. Elected officials change over the years and some have different interests in policy which other countries will cater to more than others. That's just how relations and politics go.
