When people say "discipline" people instantly think spankings. Most adults who don't believe in spanking fail on the discipline aspect of the matter which is why so many children in today's world are disrespectful and ignorant. I was disciplined as a child in various ways. I've even been hit, but did that low my IQ? Yeah, I wouldn't be on the Dean's List at my University if I was stupid I guess. It takes a lot of smarts to know how to raise a child, and many people don't know how to do it because they fail to know how to discipline a child. You don't have to beat your kid to get your point across but to some people that's what discipline is so they avoid trying any other form.

I've met some very stupid kids who have never been beat in their life, what's their excuse? Ohwait-- poor parenting is probably the best answer there. Some people will think a little smack isn't gonna hurt them while others will argue it's immoral. Some people will blame the lack of manners on lack of beatings and others will argue the "bad kids" need a better form of discipline. However, regardless of how you look at it-- any form of discipline is a sense of "abuse" if you want to throw out "hitting your kid is abuse!" thing. Mental abuse is just as fatal as physical abuse.

In any case, parents just need to know how to discipline their children. Displaying it all over the internet on what you do to your kids is probably not the best idea but hey not my problem. lol

I could say this and you could say that, but at the end of the day, the only thing left would be for me to scan and show my certifications, and really, certs mean nothing.

Let's see when Darki was born I was age 13 ish.

By age 14, let's see I had to watch my dad die in front of me.

I took multiple courses in autism.

I had already seen much of Europe, including East Germany.

I visited Hong Kong back when England still had rule.

Fought the courts to allow me to become a co-guardian of my brother.

Had to testify and sign documents in front of the FBI/CIA that I would not / have not revealed secrets about the patriot missile system.

That's all I can think of atm.

Yet when I mouthed off to my mom, she would smack me, and I am thankful for her everyday for that.

Age 13 was not fun for me at all to say the least.

There's still more, but can't think of atm.

maybe when darki gets older she will understand this......maybe.

^ this ... also I think a big part of parents "discipline" is the follow through alot of parents LACK that they think oh go to your room but guess what there is pc and ps3 and other great things to do in a room so going to your room is not much of a punishment my mom raised my brother and I very differntly she said when he came along she was "too tired" with him and due to this didnt follow through with or be very hard on him with me my mom was strict and followed through on her punishments my mom never hit me but when my step dad got custody of us he did he beat the ***outa us my lil brother included now my lil bro took his dad srsly while he did not take my mom srsly when she said something so while yes it is easier to beat your kid to some people it doesnt make it the BETTER way. Not saying I dont think some kids deserve a smack in the mouth cause most of the little hooligans running around nowadays rly do deserve it... Like the girl at my work who told her mom "WHY DONT YOU DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIFE AND BUY ME SOME CLOTHES" if that was my kid I woulda smacked em in the mouth but then again her mom prolly spoils the shet outa her which is reason for her bratty attitude. anywho my basic point is make the punishment equal to the crime follow through with said punishment you dont neccesarily need to hit your kids ~.~ followthrough ppl it will do wonders lol XD

I'm glad I don't need to spit out my tragic life in order to make a point, I have had it hard too, and not because I'm a "Teen mom" be happy with knowing you're not the only one who has gone through worse than average things as a kiddo.

What really makes me sad is that my dad had already made plans for our family to visit Australia and for him and I to take a trip to Vietnam.

Vietnam was personal to him as he was in the air force during that war and really was looking forward to that trip. Even started to teach me how to ride a dirt bike (not sure what they use over there) or whatever they do over there.
