This goes to the last 2 posters. Why would you use seiryu's inside and not outside? it can have crit rate+3 and it has more agi than iga+2. Curious as I'm going to eventually build a kannagi.
1. What is the best belt for inside and outside? I've heard Anguinus inside and Cuchulain's outside but I also have a soil belt and I'm not sure how it compares.
2.What is the best Neck/Back combo for inside and out. I've heard a lot of people say Hope Torque and Rancorous Mantle. I'm working on getting Hope atm but idk if it's better than my current set up of Atheling/Rancor Collar.
3. Is Stormsoul ring better than Rajas for either inside or outside?
4.Is Centauras earring the best or is there something better?
5. I'm currently working on Thaumas/Athos gear/Ocelomeh+1/STR Katana/Rancorous Mantle and Hope Torque, but any other suggestions would be appreciated!^^
1.Anguinus/Cuch are pretty close together.
2.Hope/Rancorous beats out Rancor/Atheling.
3.Stormsoul
4.Moonshade Att+4,TPBonus+25
5.Shura kabuto +1 with good aug’s could be an upgrade… Iirc it parses pretty close to Oce. Head +1 in certain situations. As far as hands go, Seiryu with Crit+ seems to be ideal.
There's no point in using that combo anymore, at least for Blade: Hi anyway. Rancor collars are cheap as hell now, and an Anguinus belt is super easy to get now, so should try for that if Hope torque and Rancorous mantle is out of your reach.
I have Hope/rancorous, should I use em inside aby also? With anguinus/cuchulain's?
Yes. I don't personally have Hope torque yet, but i've been messing around with Houyi's gorget and my WS damage has increased. That being said, i can imagine what a Hope torque would do.
It's not eyeballing when you know for a fact that your overall weaponskill damage is better than it used to be. Call it what you want, but i know a better setup when i see it. Also, thanks for going out of your way for posting something that wasn't useful to anyone.

You're speaking on behalf of aspects that go far beyond that of simple intuition; the extent of simple visual confirmation (so to speak) is tantamount to directionless opinion.
Your lack of analytical consolidation is perplexing, as baseless declarations are seldom justified; if you want people to take you seriously, then affirm your stance - don't just support it.
Don't become irritated when someone challenges your logic; stating someone is wrong is a careless rebuttal, but actually substantiating evidence validates your cause.
The dynamics of multiple variable calculations are incredibly diverse. You say you know for a fact that what you're using is superior? Prove it.
I too went to a public high school where the ability to use a thesaurus to complicate simple statements was considered a valuable life skill.

So this is the drama that your tell alluded to? Silly goose.
My turn now: I actually don't own a thesaurus, but perhaps you could buy me one with all the Gil that you sell? Surely your fish bots can spare a dime.
I'll dumb it down a bit:
Show me the numbers, yo.
My fish bots never went to high school, so they appreciate the colloquial phrasing.
I wasn't talking about just one piece of gear, i was responding to someone who asked a question about gear sets. So, i gave an answer on what is better from my testing(not eyeballing). When i use the word "test", i'm not talking about doing 10 WSs and saying it's better. I admit, i got a little irritated from the "eyeballing" poster, but then again i'm not a morning person. But, what annoys me more, is the fact i get more posters saying the same thing in a wall of text, and have not yet posted any info proving me wrong. So in the meantime, i'll be waiting for these results.
It basically comes down to the good ol' "which is better, rancor collar + atheling or hope torque + rancorous mantle" debate. And i said that Hope + Rancorous would win. Then i said that personally i don't have hope torque, but from using Houyi's gorget i saw my overall WS damage was better. Meaning i used my WS numerous times, on different mobs including high tier VWNMs. Inside abyssea and out, my overall WS damage was better. Is it the best set? No. Is it better than my previous WS set? Yes. That's all i was saying, wasn't trying to give the best set, wasn't saying "*chest pump* my WS set is the best, you're dumb if you don't use it." I was just saying from my experience that the set i use is better. Everyone that has a Kannagi doesn't have Nin as their main job, i'm just trying to give them options to still be good at using a Kannagi and not be like 90% of the Nins i see offhanding Agi katanas or something crazy.
Experience doesn't matter, what you think doesn't matter, for physical weapon skills, changing one or two pieces of gear doesn't often shift the average by such a drastic amount that you can just "see" the difference so you have two choices: one is do the math to determine which is better for a particular situation, the other is to do a controlled experiment with large sample sizes and analyze the data.
The formulae are well known enough that (2) will converge to or vwry close to (1) as sample size approaches infinity so there's no reason to "test" anything with known parameters.
And if you honestly believe that in an event space with a three or four digit range that you can just "notice" a single to low_double digit shift in the distribution without proper analysis, you're either a calculator savant, or the door is that way ---->
See, that's my only problem that i will admit lol. Since i don't run any 3rd party programs including windower, i pretty much wrote down my info on scrap pieces of paper and did math from there. It wasn't a "OMGWTFBBQ" increase in damage, but it was noticable enough to take into consideration for myself and others.
