Then how the hell are they still in business? Its supposed to be for the pets but if they are killing them.. then what do they do? Make flashy billboards of naked D list celebrities?

"I'd rather go naked than wear fur" more like "I'd rather slaughter innocent animals than find them homes"

They should be shut down. Waste of space.

Heh, oops.. I didn't want my rant to be first on a new page ;-;

I've always wondered how many celebrity PETA supporters actually have rescue pets, or just continue buying pure-breds.

Celeb List

Pretty sure Clinton had a pure-bred Chocolate Lab while in the Oval Office.

I remember that show with the Blink 182 drummer and his wife. They had Poms and Lhasa Apsos.

Natalie Portman has like a Cairn Terrier.

I would say it's a safe estimate at a handful, if that.

Now do these celebs actually know of this STAGGERING figure in that article? I bet they don't. They probably think "Oh, well PETA is animal rights, and I care about animals, so I support them".

I believe Pamela Anderson is a Peta supporter as well. If what I read was correct, she has leather interiors in her car. There's another famous somebody-or-other, I forget who, who is a Peta supporter and has a clothing line. They use fur in their line. /facepalm.

And the vice-president of Peta, Karen somebody-or-other, is a diabetic and uses medicine with animal products and has had medical procedures that wouldn't even be possible for humans if they hadn't been tested on animals first.

The entire Peta organization is *** and hypocrisy, in my opinion. In fact, if you have half an hour to spare, you guys should watch the "***" episode on Peta. So very informative!

I was wondering that too. It seems like a celeb band-wagon more than anything.

EDIT: Lelia, yeah...Pamela Anderson trips me out. I wasn't shocked at all when I heard the same. I think she had/has Golden Retriever(s) too. I really would like to know how many are rescue dogs now.

DOUBLE EDIT: I miss that show too!

Wasn't me, I swear! It was the name of the show!

Nah, I try not to cuss much on the forums (and certainly not on other online places, like facebook) but sometimes, I swear, it's just the harshness of the word that gets the point across. And for people that tick me off as much as Peta does, "darn hypocrites" just doesn't quite cut it. ;;

I guess this more appropriately belongs here...

Does it annoy anyone else when people talk about getting "friend zoned"?

Personally I find it quite annoying. It's almost like some poeple feel if they like someone that they should automatically like them back.

I have a buddy right now who complains about not having a g/f and that the two girls he's interested in "friend zoned" him. So I say something to the lines of well hey what about (girl C) she was crushing on you pretty hard for awhile now. Get a reply of "well yeah but I really don't want to be with her she's a better friend." I facepalmed and sat there waiting for him to get it... He never did.

I just don't get this whole whining about friend zoning and nonsense. If a girl/guy doesn't like you then you either try harder (within limits don't trespass into creepy zone) or move on and find someone else you like that will like you back. It seems simple to me. (not finding the right one just the concept)

I don't get the friend zone either, Flavin. Every guy that I've ever dated was my friend first, because I'm hella not going to date a guy that I don't even know. My husband is my best friend. Back when I was still single, if you were NOT in my friend zone, you had zero chance. Zip, zero, zilch.

What it's called "friend zone" isn't really just befriending a person, but getting a "I don't like you that way, let's just be friends" when you want to go past that point.

It also grinds my gears that my brain thinks it should replay songs that I dislike over and over and over. I was talking to Rowland yesterday about Adele songs because neither of us like her music. And ever since then, I've had that awful 'fire to the rain' song stuck in my head. Go away, horrible song! Get out of my mind!

I understand that... I just don't get why people make such a big deal about it. Not everyone is going to be into you so why be surprised when there is someone out there that isn't? Don't get me wrong I get the "I'm a little depressed because he/she doesn't like me back" but just even from reading these boards and seeing a lot of the little comics and such it seems like its been made into this terrible thing that someone doesn't like someone else lol.

Well it's not a big deal about a random crush, but if you're in love it certainly is.
The comics are something else, they're just made for the fun of it, don't need to look too much into them.

"Real women have curves! You need to eat a cheeseburger! Are you anorexic?"

First off lady, I love cheeseburgers. I probably eat more of them than you.

Second off, I am not anorexic, nor bulimic, nor do I have any other eating disorders. (Unless you count loving fairy gummie fruities meant for small children as a disorder.) I love food. I hate puking. I have a fast metabolism. And it is incredibly rude to make assumptions based on my body shape without knowing a single thing about me or my family history of scrawniness. My father? Beanpole. My brother? Beanpole. My sister? Gave birth to three kids and is STILL a beanpole. You can't even tell by looking at her stomach that she was ever pregnant, much less that she ever gave birth. Not a single one of them has any disorders, either.

Third off, I've been scrawny since birth. People thought there was something developmentally wrong with me because when my parents divorced when I was 3, I stopped growing. All my pants from childhood had to have the waistbands ripped out and replaced with tight elastic just to keep them up because I had no hips. K, this is a problem. Do you think I enjoy never being able to donate blood to save other peoples' lives? Forget donating plasma. Forget shopping in the women's section in stores.

And just because I'm naturally scrawny and have trouble gaining weight does not make me less 'real' of a woman than you. Women come in all shapes and sizes. Sorry, get over it.

Next time someone tells me I need to eat more, I'm going to get bitchy and tell them they need to eat much, much less. ><

When someone sends you a friend request on Facebook and you glance at it, fully expecting to have zero mutual friends because you have no idea who this person is. Then you see that you have 12 or so mutual friends, and they are all from the same home town as you. So you are presented with a choice to admit that you have no clue who this person is, which will hurt their feelings, or add them and pretend and hope you figure it out soon, which is awkward and has potential to hurt their feelings, just decline the invite altogether, which will of course hurt their feelings, or ignore the invite altogether, which will annoy them.

Darn it, read my mind and see whether or not I remember you before tossing invites to me! D:

Anoned people are the root of all evil. ._.

Have to level leathercraft? Urrrrrgh, moan, groan, hate leathercraft, quit whining and get off my arse and do it.

Using waistbelts? Easy recipe. But ram leather on the ah is 35k a stack? lolno. 1k apiece should make stacks no more than 12k, and the recipe is easy as all get-out.

Check highlands. No one with a ram-claiming search comment, no one in a ram-ish leveling level range, a few people searching for Chesma, some 99s probably afk outside the maw, one or two anons. No worries.

Take half of forever to run to windurst and get tea leaves, change jobs, gear thief/rng. My tele-taxi is busy tonight, so used the aby maw warp and walked it. Forever!

Saw a ram on widescan, used flee, got to it in time to watch it drop dead. Why? Anoned people!

I'm telling you, anoned people are evil, and evil squared, and the root of all evil. If you'd just be on your stinkin' job and toss up a search comment so I could see what you are up to instead of hiding it like you are totally shamed to be farming, maybe I wouldn't waste forever running out! /slap!

Or maybe I'm just crabby tonight. Better eat ice cream just in case. xD
