It's not about the caffeiene... Dunno what it is exactly, but it's something else entirely.. I drink soda's all day, and have a huge tollerance to caffieine.. Something about redbull gets me absolutely wired. Oh yeah, I also went through this phase of starbucks, and even then, I wasn't getting as wired as I do with Redbull... Redbull makes me crash.
I took like x5 Midol once and a Mountain Dew X and almost had to go to the hospital. Normally when I'm tired I have two mtn dews (or one bawls) and 3000mcg of vitamin B12, usually does the trick. There's a thing called zip fizz which is probably more B12 and that stuff is amazing. It's all about willpower (except in the cases of Insomnia, but that's an entirely different demon right there). If you don't want to stay up, caffeine won't help you stay up. Maybe it's just me, but I can go right to sleep after drinking caffeine all day, and I can also stay up for many hours after taking sleeping pills. It just comes down to how bad you want to stay up.
Willpower definitely. If I want to stay up, I stay up.
Don't say "I'll close my eyes for a second" Don't lay down. Don't lean back (if you're one of the ones who can sleep sitting). Stay active. Drink a lot, doesn't matter what, just the action of grabbing the container and putting it back constantly. Do things that require you to be engaged. Watching TV doesn't cut it. Being online, having to actually type, playing a videogame having to control what's going on, ect. Stay focused. for me its definitely willpower like a few people already said ....but gotta keep some redbulls in the mini-fridge just in case~!

An 8.46 ounce can of Red Bull contains 80 milligrams of caffeine. According to the ingredient list Red Bull is mostly water and sugar with only 0.4% taurine and .03% caffeine in one can. Hmmmm. Well all I can say is I'm not one to fall for placebo effects, and Starbucks does no where near what Redbull does for me... Then again you need to take in account when I drink Redbull.. I drink massive quantities of it...
My own thoughts keep me awake more than any chemical. I have an incredibly restless mind, just to get to sleep I have to drown myself in alcohol to shut the damn thing up.
my mind is pretty much awake at all times. i don't abuse any substances. very boring in that regard.

I enter a 2 day coma on saturday and sunday to compensate for the 2-3 hours of sleep a day in the week.
But i don't spend all that much time on actual games anymore. Most of it is invested in watching random tv shows and movies. PS: I also do cocaine.
