The Protomen.. Still a little known band, really.. In the style of rock opera.. Which, some may know the term, but if not, many should know one of the most iconic rock opera bands you'll ever hear: Pink Floyd. As is the case with many of these, the songs are actually sequential, so if you want the full effect, you must go through them in order.. But basically, it's a story based off of Megaman. They take quite a few liberties with it, however.. Each of the songs is rather stylized.. You may absolutely love some of their stuff, and hate others.. I know I do, sometimes. The tone is the tie-in, though.. One of utter hopelessness in the storyworld they're trying to convey.. Of an outright villainy and theft of liberty.
This is one of their better-known songs from their first Act, and one of my personal favorites.
This is from their recently released Act II. Honestly, I feel that if these guys were playing a bit less than half a century ago, they'd be huge.
One more.. My personal favorite of Act II.. A bit jazzy, a bit up-tempo..
And for something quite different.. Envy on the Coast.. This is Lapse, more than likely my favorite of theirs.. One of my favorite songs, in general.. If you catch the lyrics well enough, not that the tone isn't overpowering, already.. It's rather sad..
A bit different.. And the last I'll post, for now..
Ixe, you like a lot of similar bands as me!! funny you mention Dance Gavin Dance cuz one of the current bands I'm listening to is Emarosa. Their singer, Jonny Craig, is the old singer from DGD.
Led Zeppelin (indisputably the best band ever) Pink Floyd Bob Dylan (best singer/songwriter ever) CCR Stevie Ray Vaughan (should've been Bon Jovi on that helicopter instead)
and btw Tool sucks, not just because they're my ex's fav but because they sound like the grim reaper taking a ***into my ears
Edit: OMG I can't believe I forgot to mention the D. Tenacious D would be somewhere on that list but I haven't yet figured out where.

I hate to admit it some days, but Deathcab totally won me over with their live performance. Blanketed them as lame beforehand just because I knew too many lame girls obsessed with them long ago.

Sounds like you've got some good taste in music. :) I'll have to admit that Deathcab kinda won me over too. I'm very picky about music especially in this day and age when 90% of it sucks. But the same thing happened to me, they won me over w/ their live performances.

:D I am too. I gave up on radio awhile ago and just resort to all the various music sites and blogs at this point to be exposed to anything new. I think it was "Summer Skin" that got me when I saw them at the Hard Rock in Orlando. Gewd stuff.
and can't forget Perfume ^___^ I love Kashiyuka!! 1:18
Perfume is totally electric, I wouldn't consider them rock at all, lol. I have all of their songs and none of them have a 'band' feeling, just that Elecropop/Dance thing going on.
In no particular order because I can't pick: Finntroll Eluveitie Fairyland Ensiferum And uhm, Epica or some other female fronted band like Nightwish before they became le suck. /nod xD
