Yeah, we really had only played with Spearus maybe twice before. So I said in LS we are going to be in Manhattan and basically decided after he said something that we will go meet someone we don't know at all. I do those things all the time and we all had a great time so I was vindicated.

Little bump.


I'm still trying to fly under the radar among friends and family, but the need for psychological validation needs to be filled somewhere, right?

Pic is a few weeks old, it's at ~98 lbs weight loss, but now at ~103.

It's slowing a bit now but it's a lot easier to lose 2 lbs a week when you're starting with a lot to lose, and at some point you can only cut so many calories before its counterproductive. Also adjusting my workout schedule a bit since I bought a house and lifting stuff for at home so I'm not hitting the gym.

Baseline goal is to get into a "normal" BMI range, preferably down to a roughly "true average." Acknowledging BMI isn't a perfect indicator of anything, but it's a start.

The hardest part is hands down psychological. You never really realize how much you depend on the things you consume (both food and alcohol) for validation until all of a sudden you've drastically cut down on them both, which is why long-term weight loss can be so difficult.

Commit to it and stick with it. You'll have ups and downs, but remember that any loss is of health benefit and that's what it should be about, not trying to compare to anyone else.

Admittedly, I struggle with the latter myself. But it's a process.

Life happens. I'm lucky in that I've got a wife that's all in on it with me. It really makes the difference a lot of the time and I promise you I likely wouldn't have even gotten started in earnest without her.

Yes, weight is technically as simple as calories in vs. calories out. But there are so many factors that have to work out that "just" kcal out>in is pretty *** rough to make happen at times.

From a medical standpoint doctors will tell you that when it comes to many medical conditions, unless you're already below normal BMI, even losing 5 lbs has significant health benefits. 15 lbs is pretty big if you're already in the normal range as you appear to be. When viewed as a % of your total body weight I'd say it's 10% or more? (rough guess/estimate). That's not insignificant.

Wow. I'm impressed because there was discussion about diet and exercise like 2 years ago, and Ramy sounded like someone who'd make a lot of excuses when it comes to it (I hate the gym bla bla).

Great job man, keep it up '-'b

My weight has been swinging back and forth (worst I get is overweight) for like 8 years now, and I decided this has to stop. Changed my lifestyle and been going at it. No pictures :( but maybe once there's progress I'm happy about I'll take one!

I don't like hitting the gym too. Time constraints etc. So I just exercise at home (when I do..>.>). Best solution!

I use p90x at home with free weights and other things like pull up bar. Can work just fine if you keep up with it.
