Many of you will likely scream blasphemy over this; but for whatever reason I prefer Chino's voice over Robert's.
I'm still a big fan of The Cure though, this just happens to be a cover I like better than the original.

Is this to be a music thread based around covers that are better than the original? Or you just trying to get the song some attention? Just curious.

It's more or less a (good) covers thread.
Generally ones you prefer over the originals, or simply measure up to the original well.

Given that I'm not a huge fan of older music (I listen to it, even like quite a few songs, it's just not my thing) I have quite a few..

I'll start with the hardest to justify of them all.. I LIKE Pink Floyd, I like both versions nearly as much, so this isn't as much of a 'better' as it is a good 're imagining'

This would be another of those, I like Smashing Pumpkins, and I like the original, I love Skinlab, though it's a complete different type of band, but they do a good job of 're imagining' it.. (My wife hates it though, it should be noted Skinlab is almost akin to Slipknot, and nothing like Smashing Pumpkins)

The last two, I feel are 100% better, sorry I wasn't around for the originals and they seem out of place in this day and age.

More coming.

100% better, no if, and's or but's about it... NIN was one of the first rock bands I ever got into, right behind Korn.. (before that, I was full blown kicker.. You know, country).

Not better, just different.

I would argue, that David's voice fits better than the original.. It's really hard to call it better, but I'd kinda have to lean that way.

Something in the Way was always one of my favorite songs, I think Seether does it justice. It's actually pretty rare to hear a good Nirvana cover.. (Dare I bring up Papa Roach's live MTV cover of Lithium)

Two sides of the same coin.. I love Deftones.. I love Kittie as well.

That's it from me for now.

I don't even think of that as a cover anymore..

Also, since I'm a smart ***.. I just have to go here.. It's definitely better, but the original didn't exactly set the bar too high..

You mean the other way around. Nine Inch Nails Covers Johnny Cash's version. But yes by far one of the best live performances by NiN

Now I'm confused.. You do realize the song was written by Trent, right?

Hurt was originally written/performed by Trent Reznor.
Johnny Cash did a cover of it shortly before his passing.

With that said. More covers!

A pretty damn good modernized cover. Better than the original? Up for debate of course.

Okay, I skimmed through, I'm hoping these aren't reposts.. (Also Art <_< I now realize that you didn't create this thread, at the top of the page, I thought you made the thread, somehow I missed the fact that the thread had 6 pages already)

Technically speaking I guess it's a cover.. Although she does it better than anyone ever could.
