Log Horizon, The Eminence in Shadow, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, Overlord, Mushoku Tensei.

There are tons. These are some of the good ones I've watched.

Ive been watching two reviews of the anime "If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student".

Both reviews were 2 part series where both the youtuber said that they would release the part 2 only if the first one had views.

What didnt happen in neither reviews.

So left me wondering how this story will end.

A friend of a friend is curious to know how it will end, actually.

Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra (Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra) is a new anime for summer, and is based on one of my favourite light novels of recent times.

It's an Isekai obviously, but a dark fantasy horror based one. The protagonist is part of the "evil" faction of the world and literally spreads evil to grow stronger.

A role reversal to the typical hero makes friends with everyone and is a cuddly little slime themes.

Ive not read Jujutsu Kaizen yet, but Ive been watching a couple of reviews of it.

I honestly am surprised how this series starts so carbon copy of Naruto, with the team 7 setup, some obvious design copies.

So carbon copy I almost feel cringed how much that Kakashi-copy is so similar in design, role.

But given how this guy is popular, the mangaka must have done a good work to make him interesting despite some prejudice for people like me, thinking there is no way for a copy to be interesting.

Well, the few shots I saw of the girl member of the "team 7" at least can never be as bad as Sakura. I just saw a couple of funny poses, plus not seemed to have some romantic otivation already makes her better than Sakura.

Also interestingly many of those manga/anime reviewers are generally under 30 and sometimes just a little over 20.

I feel kinda weird hearing comments about those guys saying they never wached OG Evangelion. They didnt know the right name of Beyblade. Some guy even criticized Dragon Ball saying it was full of Shonen cliches...

Heard me houw you stinking brat: how can Dragon Ball be full of cliches when the series itself was the one who made popular the majority of shonen cliches the 2 or 3 decades later? I felt this comment so disrespectful and ignorant. Sure, maybe younger readers/viewers wont feel appealed to Dragon Ball, given they probably grow up with Naruto, Bleach, One Piece. But in its time, Dragon Ball was surely the very first manga many western children could read. It cememnted the foundation of a genre that became strongly popular in many many countries simply because how above the curve were the story compared with many children comics around there.

You meant Gojo Satoru?

Imo the biggest difference between him and Kakashi is the battle strength. Kakashi was only mid tier when it comes to battle strength, and he frequently struggle to beat his opponents in later fights. In the entire story Kakashi eventually grow stronger as he faces stronger does just like the rest of the cast, which makes him a bit more humble and has a "growth" character arc like the other main characters.

On the other hand, Gojo Satoru is designed to be THE strongest character in the world. And this perk gave him tons of fans. Who doesn't love a strong and confident, if not a little cocky character?

However, his biggest issues is that because he is the strongest, the author has to constantly find ways to get him stay out of battlefield so his strength won't break balance. As a result, his whole character arc in the end pissed off many fans.

Ultimately, I would say Gojo Satori probably stand out more than Kakashi when it comes to power and cocky-ness, THE strongest just gets more attention than someone with mid-tier battle strength and constantly struggle in every fight. But Gojo Satoru's strength makes him sits in a more weird position that pretty much has to end in a bad way, unlike Kakashi who ended up getting main character treatment in the story.

Oh and Gojo Satori had way more meme on the internet than Kakashi from what I've seen, lol.

So anyone of you watched Lord of the Mysteries? I think they finished season 1. A bit rushed for such a long intro but it can't be helped since you can only cram so much story into it.

I hope it isn't done its only been like 5-6 episodes
one of my favorites so far

Helped me realize I am a sucker for world building.
Fascinating from multiple angles.

If it hadn't been for super cube warming me up to the Chinese anime I probably would not have been able to get as into this one
Hearing the Chinese on an anime was a little jarring at first.

Comparing jjk to naruto is like comparing game of thrones to a Saturday morning cartoon

While reviewing JoJo series, one thing is clear:

Hirohiko Araki is an enemy of mankind!

Every single dog that appeared in JoJo series just ended being kicked, punched, killed!

Araki, why you hate dogs?

Answer me Araki!

I just finished reading Nagatoro.

Very enjoyable ride in this series. I dont have anything objectively to complain, maybe the last arc that I personally thought too shallow or unnatural.

Next in my backlog will be Jujutsu Kaisen. Personally I feel like Im kinda old for shonen stories, last couple I tried (Tokyo Ghoul and 7 deadly sins) I really couldnt finish them, but lets give this one a try.

It's too grim dark and deep for the average mobs to watch. I read the novel. Episode 8 is when you start to feel the despair in the novel. Miserable wretches fighting against madness and monsters. It's a foreshadowing for the 1st book as well as the 4th book.

Just like the rest of the Seer acting method: you can be omniscient with such power, as your ability to see into the past and future get stronger and stronger, you still can not rely on it.

They planned for 6 seasons and 3 movies. I guess one season per book. It's going to be really fast pace with a lot of info dump until book 4-5. Really high quality for what they have to cramp into 13 episodes.

Yeah I feel like I am fighting to stay above water watching it with the amount of lore and info to digest.

It is definitely dark fantasy and it is getting progressively darker

I have never felt such a strong urge to read a novel a show is based on before.

I would try the novel after the first season. The first book is pretty slow and it's a lot like Sherlock Holmes book - the author borrowed Sherlock Holmes on his second book!

The full depth of the potions power and their meaning won't be available until you get to book 5 and I think the author made up most of it.

If Spectator potion is about reading other people then Clown potion (Sequence 8) is about making a performance for the Spectator. That's why they have perfect control of muscles and especially micro muscles which allow them to put on perfect performance/acting in almost any way. The relationship between the Spectator and Seer pathway is counteracting as well as complementary.

What's the best way to read lord of Mysteries?
I heard there's a few versions out there that I should flat out avoid
And the text version is supposed to be superior to the comic book esque one.

The Novel is best. The comic isn't bad but they have like 1 person doing it so it will take something like 300 years before they can complete it.

As Ive been having problems getting into Jujutsu Kaisen, I started two other series:

Meika-San Can't Conceal Her Emotions, maybe a follow up to Nagatoro style of a comedy story, when the main couple try to interact with each other while concealing how much they like the other.

If my wife became an elementary school student. I wont lie this title is so clickbait (kindaish) and does feel like SUS, but two chapters and Im already hooked on it. Maybe because the male protagonist is a salaryman, and I end up sympathizing it. The kid wife is also very interesting character. Maybe if she was a ghost or a monster it wouldnt feel as awkward as being a kid, then I could like the character more without triggering FBI…

Top Show Op
Detective Conan has been around basically since the dawn of time, and that is a highschool boy being turned into a elementary school age. Most people are not aware of it in that show so a bit different, but never noticed awkwardness. But maybe that is just the ever present difference between a boy in that situation and a girl

It is interesting with even with so many gimmicks and tricks in Jujutsu Kaisen, the character Ive been liking the most in the entire series is Toji, that is simple and pure brute strength and combat intelligence.

Plus his name reminds me of Tojil, what net him more respect points.

In contrast, the one Ive been disliking a lot is Gojo. Maybe part because so much hype he has made my expectations on him too high, but lately I just feel like he is just a blob of “cool” things wrapped around. I still cant fully understand his gimmicks, but also at this point I would prefer he just had something like one button win technique. It would be simpler and net the same results.

Finally Gojo being the “pillar” of Jujutsu Kaisen, and suddenly becoming the damsel in distress in Shibuya arc is an atteststion of the mangaka poor storytelling skills. Everything so far revolves around Gojo simply because of his pure strength, that by itself allows him to be the “cool” show off guy, and constantly unavailable because of that.

There are good points in the story (like Toji as I mentioned, Nanamin is good too, Itadori is ok shounen protagonist), but 100 chapters so far, and I feel like the reviews and analysis I watched so far made the story more interesting than the actual execution, that lacks in plot and storytelling, but maybe kids dont care enough about that to actually noticing it.

Maybe they are satisfied with just seeing Gojo throwing a godlike magic.

Only old geezers like me would care about the actual story quality

Takopi's Original Sin

Phenomenal show, dark and constantly surprising you.
Only being a short 6 episode investment everyone should watch it.
