I'm not sure if it's been recommended already but Monster is a great thriller, psychological, mystery series. There's even little hints of romance towards the end lol.

Inuyasha, but if an episode looks like Filler, run away

FMA - I actually liked it better than FMA: Brotherhood (Full Metal Alchemist). I thought when the series split from the manga (because the first series caught up to the manga), that they took the rest of the plot in a better direction than what the manga took it.
Yeah, Adult Swim introduced me to most of my favorite anime
...the manga storyline was much better than the first anime's incomplete original ending and the movie ending i felt just meh.
The chief point that FMA nailed (which wasn't a plot point at all in FMA:B) was that each of the Homonculi were created by our hero's attempts to recreate life. The battle with Sloth & Wrath and all the dialogue intermixed was a high-point of the series.
The ending-twist was also better, that the great flaw in their equivalent exchange was that the energy itself had to come from somewhere, and the source of it was a fantastic twist.
The open-ending did suck, and the movie was half-assed. FMA:B was better in what Ed concluded would be a fair exchange for Al's Body
FMA:B also had a lot of the silly nonsense in it, like virtually anything to do with that miniature princess and her pandakitten thing.
Got to recommend Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts. While I'm not a fan of romantic comedies, I tried watching it when my friend told me that she really enjoyed it.
Suffice to say I was instantly hooked as the laughs didn't stop and the romance actually made me find my romantic side. I like it so much I went out and bought both seasons.
Really depends on what type of anime you enjoy watching. There are plenty of other animes not on that list I enjoyed watching. I didn't like Cowboy Bebop at all. Elfen Lied and Blood+ was below average for me. Fooly Cooly was just too damn weird and wasn't funny at all. Its one of those anime you either like it or don't like Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan or Lucky Star.
A friend of mine, his friend liked Cowboy Bebop. Worshipped it and told me how its the best anime ever and I must watch it. After I watched it, I told him it wasn't the type of anime I enjoy watching. Needless to say he went a bit insane. Got into a verbal arguement then almost into a fist fight. I never saw his crazy *** again. The guy had a few screws loose.
Also Golden Boy is the only anime I like the dubbed version better than the subbed. Do miss watching Fairy Tail.

Looking for any good animes or mangas while i wait for more Naruo, Bleach, and Fairy Tail chapters. Prefer something more along the lines of Fullmetal Alchemist: Botherhood and Cowboy Bebop with its look at the human condition psyche and sometimes religous aspects.
Finished Welcome to the N.H.K last night, I didn't think I'd laughed as much as I did but it does get serious later on but still a bit hilarious~! Not too long either, 24 episodes (a plus for me at least!)
It also references FFXI at some point, Ultimate Fantasy!
Suisei no Gargantia Looks interesting. Been meaning to check out Hunter X Hunter for some time as well. As for Toriko is that the one in Shenon Jump alpha or the one about food? And how much do I need to know about the original Saint Seiya to enjoy omega? Lastly Chihayafuru doesn't while sometimes I like those types of storys not in the mood for one of them atm. But thank you still.
*edit* nevermind about Toriko, its the same thing. Not the type of anime/manga I care for from the looks of it.
Gonna suggest Shingeki no Kyoujin, it's pretty impressive. It's kinda like Claymore as a reference for its typology.
With the disclaimer added that if you don't like seeing people bitten in half, stomped, smashed, squished, piss their pants, crying, weeping, and giving up on life you shouldn't watch the show.
>.> Probably the most brutal anime I've ever watched.
If you're looking for an anime movie that's just pure fun and don't dislike racing, you should watch red line. They have it on Hulu if you don't mind commercial breaks.
just finished both hellsing and hellsing ultimate and recently mushi-shi. I'm watching bit last exile but looking for some more along the hellsing / mushi line or maybe something more cerebral
