If you want help, read the thread, it pretty much tells you what to do, if you want to have a pissy fit because you can't be arsed to read it and figure out your own god damn self, then please don't clutter up xiv with your idiotic crap.

Hell, someone even has a site uploaded with the files you need (of which I won't tell you because obviously you can find it for yourself with a little perseverance.)

Second, everyone is just angry at how SE has handled complaints about updates in the past by, now, "attempting" to create what can only be seen as a failed torrent program to update the game successfully. As Flionhart and Krizz has stated, in the, as of now, 23 page thread, just go to page 5 like half way down and it tells you what to do.

If you're on windows 7...

C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta

Then there should be two folders, open them up and go to 'Metainfo' and extract the torrents.

Once you've downloaded them, put them in

C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta

and overwrite all.

I pasted it so you can see it.

You obviously need a torrent program such as Utorrent and have it Port Forwarded properly.

Although better use Krizz's page for the latest patches.

Basically what my post states is that the torrent points to a file that everyone has pieces of, or the whole thing if you are just seeding. That, then, downloads the whole file that will end up in the Patch subfolder of the subfolders of the FFXIV client folder.

tl;dr

read my first post, make sure you have a torrent program, port forward properly, wait for the files to download...the 4.7GB file is a pain.

This is all so you don't have to download from the fail of a torrent program SE set up.

...and before anyone complains that doesn't understand the multiple posts about torrents and stuff...

if you don't know how these things work...just use the simple way and wait, otherwise use the go-around that has been explained and it will be completed much faster.

Do you know what else is bad? The information you wanted was in the exact same topic that was linked to you right from the beginning, but you refused to read it because it was beneath you.

ok i have a question. my main boot for my computer is xp 64-bit and you cant run the installer on it, so i went to my other windows boot which is just 32-bit, and ran the installer there. after it did its thing, i got to the brown check version screen, and it downloaded 2 files, after that, it went to a blue check version screen and wanted to download 4 things, but it sat at 0% for a while and no download speed, so i gave up, copied everything there was to my xp 64-bit windows and am now downloading the (Beta files download (3.54GB) on tehkrizz.net, which i assume is what the blue check version screen wanted to download?

am i doing this right?

well someone posted that as a way around it on the beta site. i was picked as a tester but never got to play because of this issue, but since the open beta is coming out, i figured i would give it a try. but i dont know if i had to fully install everything on my other windows boot, or just the installer...

even still, that 4.4gb file is crawling right now... only like 70kb/s. a lot of people must be downloading it now

I'm downloading the 4.4Gb file right now..

They seem to have a problem with XP 64 since I can't (and many others) install it either which is really frustrating :/

I personally think my ISP (TalkTalk) is blocking these downloads.

Having a very similar experience to when they broke FFXI for 5 days.

I can download the updates fine first thing in the morning but any other time the download just fails to connect.
