Any way to download the beta client directly from SE before the codes go live? I can't seem to find a download link anywhere.

You can download the client from Krizz's site, SE took the DL down.

It tells me requested download is not authorized to use this tracker, I need to download the 4.7GB thing right?

EDIT: N/m it's going now. Never seen a torrent do that though.

Krizz, I've downloaded all the files from your site into the appropriate folder. Anything else that needs to be done?

The only tracker that doesn't work is the one from SE with something to the effect of FFXIV_Track01 or something since you would only be authorized to use their tracker via their failed attempt at a torrent program in the client program .exe file.

yeah, it should say that. give it a few minutes and let it start downloading.

this is what i do:

1: open up xiv launch window and let it start downloading
2: close xiv launch window
3: download the stuff from torrent or krizz's site
4: cut/paste the new file into the patch folder. it's important to make sure you overwrite the file.
5: launch xiv and win

i hope this helps, reply again if it doesn't

no, step 2 means to close it. why? because if you keep the window open while you cut/paste the new(complete) file in, it either A: won't let you overwrite it or B: will *** up your complete file.

EDIT: you'll end up closing it again later anyway to check if the new files successfully did the job anyway, so there's no reason not to.

i open it first just so the file is there and i know i'm putting it in the right folder, so the overwrite is just a safety thing i personally like to do

Just read this from some BG loser

my bet is there will be at least 1 retard from the UK, who comes on in 1hr 40 from now, and starts bitching about it not starting, not realising that we are infact on BST (GMT+1), as it is the summer

Is that right?

Alright, I open and close it. I downloaded the stuff from his site. Now, I thought I set the download folder to be the exact folder the game already had. But I guess its really not since its not taking me to the sign in page. Can we break down the download/copy paste process for me a bit more?

Alright, so now just to make sure i'm doing it right. Lets say I have nothing downloaded off his site. Do I either download the open beta client files or the closed beta files?

it's 9PM for you if you're CST.

@Jekya: that's what i did, but it's weird. i don't see the patch files in there. dunno why, but it's still working for me.

:( So assuming you had to start over and deleted everything, what do you download off his site? Besides the download client.
