Just FYI--Since the FFXIAH.com revamp, the search url has changed if you use this plugin.
Just go to Tools >> FFXI Helper >> Settings, change the url under "Auctions:" to "http://www.ffxiah.com/search/item?q=" and you should be good. :)

Meh, I use Firefox out of habit. Chrome does take a lot out of your CPU's memory usage, iirc.

I just switched from Chrome back to Firefox after discovering it was an absolute memory hog. Chrome was using 4x the memory of firefox.

And I'd suggest everyone who's getting memory issues to update Chrome. Chrome is still in its infancy and still kicking the crap out of FF. Only reason they have that chrome sucks is cause it uses up resources like a crackwhore :/ But in reality, unless you have a super ***computer, you never really see problems, I use chrome all the time and at any time usually have 10-15 tabs open, never see any kind of slow down, or issue. Firefox gave me problem after problem :/

Google Chrome is awesome. Don't get me wrong I was using firefox for a long time before hand, but it eventually just got too crap lol.
Not had a problem with chrome so far, even when it tries to crash it fixes itself, unlike firefox which just crashes and sometimes takes all your tabs with it lol. what does this add-on do?
basically it adds a tool bar with links to missions items etc and adds other searchy stuff for alla, ffxiah, wiki, etc... it's somewhat customizable i thought, but can't really remember. Last I tried to use it, firefox wouldn't let me install as it wasn't current for that firefox version.

I dunno about memory hogging as I don't know enough about browser testing to be able to do it myself but I dual box FFXI and generally have kparser and chrome with god knows how many tabs up and it doesn't give me any problems.
I still use firefox for things that chrome doesn't like such as my online school board and a few select sites that my privoxy causes issues with on chrome. I like having both options though, if one messes up, open it in the other. |
