Am I missing something that a lot of sams on my server are catching on too? I'm not big headed, I looked at the set when it came out and it didn't look that great for sam but maybe I should look again?

There are lots of full Perle Samurai on Gilgamesh at the moment. I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon though.

Yeah, it looks nice, but i wanted to leave a pt when i saw people wearing the whole gear for tp. even had a guy in my HNM shell using it to TP off DI lol :x

Turban + Dusk Gloves + V.belt (or swift) + Kitty pants + Fumas = 20-22% haste Full Perle = 13% from pieces & bonus. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

No, you're not dumb. Just looking over those sets, a lot of the pieces look situational to certain jobs anyways.

14% haste, misprint on head. It's 3% not 2%, hence why it's a great DRK/DRG TP set.

The side stats of full Perle are more beneficial than turban, hauby, dusk gloves, kitty pants and fumas, but you'd be sacrificing

I suppose this is only acceptable if accuracy is an issue and you don't have Ace's helm I guess lol. MOST of the time when someone in game calls you dumb, you aren't, especially when it comes to gear. I don't want to go on about having fun, game time, availability to attend events, etc. It's been done before.
But, the way I think about it is that you can really think about level 80 like level 50... sorta. Are you going to go out and mix and match the most awesome level 50 set? Well, maybe, but just a decent set is cool too. Still, that doesn't mean the full set is better. And it really doesn't have anything to do with you being smart. (I didn't bother with what you DO wear, because it doesn't even really matter.)

V.belt/swift belt aren't part of the armor sets. It's a waist peace, so you can wear it with full perle. I wear full perle on my DRG. However, i would not wear full perle on my SAM. nooooo way... because, yes... my set with byakko's haidate is just way too much better. That being said, you have to consider how difficult it still is to get haidates... diorites don't grow on trees... they drop off of STINGY golems! Anyway, my point is, i can see why some sam may want to tp in full perle... atleast they are gearing towards haste for TP instead of gearing towards full str lol. So cut em a break, eh? or, you know... go get them a haidate. incidentally, does the quote button not work?? i had to copy paste and do the quote manually... >.<

I realized I accidentally mentioned the belt even though that's completely outside the set lol. Just kinda brain stormed haste pieces that came to mind. Whoops.
Perle is better for anyone that doesn't have BH. Same haste but better stats. Seeing that you have BH your accusers are the dumb ones.

Haidate aren't that hard to get though, just time consuming really.

I bet TONS of people are out to fix the augs on their Blitzers so they don't have haste anymore now that Perle/Ocelot is out.

When new gear came out, people freaked out how all old gear is dead and gone but, a lot of the newer gear stuff is just more options for people who don't want to do older content (Limbus, sky, maybe some salvage pieces)
As always, some pieces of a set will replace some of your TP or WS slots, while others are just better choices then what you had before if you didn't have top of the line gear.
