It seems so far that most people just snatch items from the chests without regard for anyone else.

Best way to get gear is to be the one opening the chest.

Use a key on it and then say "Well I used a key so the gear should be mine".

By being the chest opener, lol.

Yep. I go into each run going "Look I have 12 keys, so let me open chests". Most of the time people let me open. I also have a lot of experience with it so far, and rarely fail.

It will cost you cruor, but I'd still rather be opening chests.

However, I wouldn't just jack a good piece of gear. I'd make people /random for it.

This really is the biggest problem with pick up alliances. People just grab w/e is in the items chests without care or concern for the alliance of people that are there.

I really wish these would work like BCNM chests where you pop it and it goes into the pool so everyone can see it and lot. Such bs that one person opens the chest while everyone else has to continue fighting and then chest person just grabs up what could be potentially 100s of thousands worth of stuff or augmented gear that then cannot even be random'd.

Abyssea runs I do, I collect all the gil items myself then hold an kind of auction at the end, everyone randoms for them.

We got a jeweled collar from killing the gigas (near the fairies) in abyssea-LaTheine. The augment was either hmp+1 or hhp+1.
