Spelling and Grammar are very important.

If you have poor grammar, how can you succeed in life?

Who would hire the stupid guy who doesn't know the difference between "you're" and "your"?

Is there a teacher, instructor, or professor that would pass you through their class?

How you present yourself through grammar is a huge factor in whether or not other people view you as intelligent or not.

You could be a very smart person..

But if you portray yourself as an idiot, who the hell is going to take what you're saying seriously?

When it comes to correct grammar, punctuation and spelling the FFXIAH forums is hardly the place where it is needed, an editors' dream persay lol. Fair enough if some assclown comes in here running their mouth pretending to know it all and and have their post looking worse than a pile of dog ***, wall of text, no punctuation and generally your eyes are watering from struggling to understand it then yes, go ahead and proceed to whine about it.

But if the average joe blow mistypes a few spelling words here and there stop having a *** cry about it, seriously.

Are you an editor of a top selling magazine? Are you a judge passing bills in parliament? Are you a school teacher marking an english exam? No i highly *** doubt it lol!

Basically, someone with bad grammar won't be taken seriously. Unless you take pride in showing others that you have a decent education by writing correctly, other people won't even respond, and if they did it would probably be trolling or flaming.

If I see people who use the wrong "your/you're" once or twice and I know they know better I'll let it roll off my shoulders. I do think this is something that you should just know and not even have to think about but sometimes people have blond moments, so whatever.

With that said, however, good communication skills are important k? I don't think anyone could argue with me there. If you're making this same mistake over and over again, you do have a problem and you should work to correct it. If I see the same person repeatedly use the wrong one over and over again, it really does piss me off. It might not bother me so much if this wasn't so ridiculously common and it reminds me of how ignorant the majority of people out there are. In any case if you are consistently using the wrong word it tells me straight up that you're an idiot so you might want to fix that if you don't want people to get a bad impression of you.

It would also do many people well to learn that "alot" is not a word >_>.
